In Estonia usually we don't have paperbacks (only children's books), all good books are hardcovers. Only paperback's I have, are ordered from US. I love books and it doesn't make any difference to me if it's paperback or hardcover. Do books cost more in Estonia than in north America then because they are all hardcovers?

Usually you can't get a good book under 25 dollars.

That's terrible. Literature should be for the masses!

Yes, and I hate that! Usually you can't get a good book under 25 dollars. Over here new books, or new editions of old books usually cost about 20 dollars... Paperback... And then the hardcover ones are like 30... It's ridiculous, I always end up buying used books for under 10 dollars each...

I love any kind of book - I mostly go for the price. I rarely pay full-price for a book. Unless I have a gift card, then I splurge!
I don't like books that have the movie characters on the cover, and I don't like 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 books - they're too bulky, and even if it's cheaper to buy it that way, I'll suck it up and buy them separately. Recently, Barnes & Noble had all Jane Austen books in a hard-back for $12.95!! I did buy it, but the print was really small, the pages large and it was SO bulky it was annoying. So I returned it and bought 2 of her books separately.
I get a lot from the library - what's better than free books! Then, if I really love the book and am sure I will read it again, I'll look for it on sale and buy it.

I prefer paperbacks and you've already mentioned most of the reasons I like them =o) I also think that hardcovers are really too expensive.... and also some paperbacks That's one of the reasons I like Penguin Popular Classics =)
