I don't really mind actually.. I've already read 1984.. so i only need to read Mansfield Park, but I do need to get Mansfield park first, I don't have it yet... but maybe I won't participate in it at all, because for now I just wanna read something I chose myself..

I wouldn't mind reading both of them, I've already got them from library.

I don't know if I'm going to participate in the 1984 discussion so I don't mind them both being at the same time.
Maybe we can stagger the posting dates so that there is at least a few days in between for people to focus on either book?

I've already read 1984. I have yet to read Mansfield Park, so I would be more apt to want to read that, but it doesn't really matter to me.

Ok so how are people's copies set out? Mine has three parts. (Grr it irritates me just to look at my copy, a friend borrowed it and now its in tatters! ) That sounds like a good idea Michelle

Ok so how are people's copies set out? Mine has three parts. Which book are you referring to? ----This is my first time not only doing the book club, but also joining in on a discussion. -- How long do you have to read the book? I know I'm doing Mansfield Park. Depending on how long we have to read both books will depend on if I participate 1984 as well.

Sorry 1984. Just checking how everyone's is set out to work out how best to divide it into sections. So on the starting date you discuss the first allocated section, then in another week another section is discussed etc. Does that make sense? It's all broken into sections to be discussed at certain times rather than discussed in one lump. So you don't have a set date to have had to read the whole thing by, you just try to keep up with each section to be discussed

I'll be quite busy in May but I already read both Mansfield Park and 1984 (I still have to buy them...I think the bookclub discussion would be a good excuse ;D ), so it's ok discussing them at same time.
I agree with Michelle about posting dates.

I'm not sure what decision was made here but I don't mind whether they'll be both at the same time or whatever you decide, I've already read 1984 last month. I agree too with Michelle, it would just be more convenient for me if we did this, but anything would do![/color]

Mine had three parts as well. I'm not sure when it's best to start.. I've already read 1984.. but I don't have mansfield park yet.. but that shouldn't be too hard to find.. how about.. may...15 haha (thats just a wild guess.. I have no idea..)

I think it's best to start a week or two after we start Mansfield Park, then we would have the time to get used to the book. ( I know 'get used to the book' seems odd, but I don't know how you say it in English, so I translated it directly from Estonian ) In my mind the beginning is the most important part of the book, so for it would be great if I could concentrate on only one beginning, not two. But that's only my opinion..

I don't know...What about 11st or 12nd of May? But I can't say because I've already read 1984...for those who haven't maybe it's better to start the discussion about a week later than Mansfield Park, as sparkle suggested.

Mansfield Park has been extended to start on the 8th of May now, so do we want to start about a week after that? Or the 12th of May might be good because then the posting dates will be kind of alternated like Michelle suggested. This is complicated!
