Has anyone read these gems? It's a fantasy/scifi series that is still going, written by Aussie author Isobelle Carmody. I started reading the first book - published in 1989 - reluctantly when i was 15 and fast became hooked. I know we've seen plenty of post-apocalyptic tales and characters with mind powers but this combines the two in a way which i feel is original and powerful and poignant. I recommend them highly - and if anyone has already read them, please do join me in chitchat! The next installment is out in October- finally!!!! It's been years of waiting and getting different titles and release dates, and it's been driving me bonkers! I don't actually own copies myself, but seeing as the 5th book's release is nearing, newlook versions are going prety cheap in many stores, so i may start purchasing them all and re-reading in preparation. If you ever want to borrow them Dom, just let me know

Really? I still have to download the last 2 episodes, so i'll be sure to listen for the mention... no doubt they don't acknowledge that it's an Australian fantasy series, coz they can be dam arogant and presumptious over at MC (they don't mean to be of course, but several times they have inadvertantly dissed Aussies and it's mad me an angry panda!)

It was one of the fan Girls she drew a paralell between the two series!
