That's like "Invisible man" now that i'm almost half way through, I'm enjoying it. The details don't bother me now, because it's more stream of conciousness and I can appreciate it. I wish there was a little less detail, but i think Ellision wants you to feel what the narrator feels.

when you've read it, we've done a book club thread on it and we've finished analysis, but it's still open for further discussion so don't be afraid to post in there

I just cannot get into Middlemarch. I've tried a few times, but it just doesn't work for me. I'm thinking about getting into the "newer classics", the ones where the authors aren't hundreds of years old. Native Son, by Richard Wright is a modern classic. I just want to suggest it because i'm really enjoying it.

Most people I know read Lord of the Flies in high school and really enjoyed it so I'm hoping to read it in the future

I guess I liked the basic idea behind it, like the whole microcosm of society bit, but the actual book I found dull.

thank god i never had to read that one. although catcher in the rye was a big waste of paper. i like how i saw it written somewhere: "he wanders around new york city for a couple days and does exactly nothing" true true! but i know many people who love it. it's a love or hate thing i suppose

The bell Jar is amazing. It's a great book. The book club has it for it's first book club choice. You can check it out if you want.

Tess Of The D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. I've been working on it for FOREVER...but it is still so slow.
I love The Bell Jar, for the person who asked. Very good literature. I read it in 5th grade, which was probably not the best thing to do, but I recently reread and enjoyed it very much.

I read the first few pages of Slaughterhouse 5 the other day, so I intend on finishing that. I haven't really had time to get into it yet and I want to wait till I have like a couple of hours spare cos I feel it's probably not the kind of book you can enjoy reading in small sections, although there aren't many of those around anyway
