I was looking for a thread where I could just ask whatever about books, and I couldn't find one that seemed to fit, so...What I'm wondering is if anyone of you have read anything by Carlos Ruiz Zafon besides Shadow of the Wind? I googled him and saw that he has published four youth novels, so I'm just checking for opinions...

It's sitting on my TBR pile at home - I've got the original Spanish version so I'm trying to muster up the courage to finally tackle it!

Have any of you guys any experience of buying books at www.betterworld.com? I've bought some used books from them through amazon, but I'm always a bit sceptical of buying stuff at the internet if it's not through something I know is reliable. Anyhow, I was impressed on how fast my books arrived so I visited their page and they have free shipping in the US and only 2.97 to the rest of the world, and while their books are cheap they also support different charitable organizations such as Books for Africa etc. My impression is good, but do any of you know anything about it?

I've bought a used school book from betterworld .. it came fast and the book even had some helpful notes in it. And it was incredibly cheap! It ended up being like 5 dollars for english textbook that would have cost me 80 at school . They really are a wonderful place to get books .

I hadn't heard of it before reading your post, but I checked it out and it looks really cool! Even if it is in American dollars I think on a lot of books I would still be saving money. I might try it out after my next pay day

If I add the shipping costs it´s basically as much as if I buy the book in the store. But it might come in handy when I´m looking for "rare" books. Thanks for the link.
I usually order used books from amazon or booklooker.

Does anyone know what a "perfect paperback" is? I saw it on amazon and I wasn't sure how it differs from a regular old paperback. Google doesn't seem to have any insight. Any thoughts?

Hmm, that's odd. If I saw that I'd probably just assume the person meant that it was in perfect condition. Did you see that on Amazon Marketplace? If so, that's my guess. If it was an actual Amazon description though, that's really strange....

It was next to the title. Like where it normally would say hardcover or paperback.
