I know most people would like to whack me for it but I thought "pride&prejudice" was great. Even though I saw the BBC production before the movie. I never liked Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. Yuck! And "the contant gardener" was beautiful and less confusing than the book. I´ll have to think on the worst.

You didn't like Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy?!?!? But he IS Mr. Darcy!! ;D Of course, I'm one of those who didn't like the new Pride and Prejudice movie but not necessarily because of the actors they chose (although Keira Knightley as Elizabeth was a weird choice), I just thought there were two many things that were wrong and didn't reflect the novel well.

I didn't like the new one either. It was like listening to off key music.

I liked the new movie of P & P and the Darcy in that one better, I have seen the old BBC series but I haven't read the book yet so I can't judge on how good a reflection of it the new movie was. I thought the new Darcy was way more dreamy than Colin Firth and seemed more shy than arogant to me, probably why I liked him more. Not that I don't like Colin Firth as well ;D

I guess that would make sense, if you haven't read the book. Because when you do, you'll see that Darcy is not very well liked at first, and it's not because he's shy...!
One thing they did get right in the new movie is Wickham: I don't know who that actor was, but he was really good looking. In the novel, Wickham is supposed to be better looking than Darcy, which isn't the case in the A&E production. But then in the new one we only see Wickham for a split second and then he's gone, which doesn't make any sense because he's such an important character in the novel.

Yup, I knew I was one of a kind ;-) In the movie the characters looked more how I imagined them than they did in the production. That´s always an important factor.

what did everyone think about the memoirs of a geisha movie/book? I liked the book a lot more. The cinematography of the film was beautiful, but the story missed too much detail for me. Other friends I saw it with often didn't understand what was going on due to the omissions in the script and it's fast past. It was a long movie though so I don;t know how that happened?

I loved the movie but as an independent part and not compared to the book. The book was definitely more detailed and I liked, that it we knew how she ended up in America being interviewed.

That's what I've heard. I'm not sure how fair along they are though.

When I read books before I see it made into a movie, I usually end up hating the movie. It's just because I can't get out of my head what is SUPPOSED to be happening and judge the movie separately. But it's usually okay if I read the book after I see the movie because then I can judge them separately. Does that make any sense to you guys?

Yeah that makes sense, I'm like that with things I've really enjoyed. Usually if u read the book after uve seen the movie it's because you liked the movie I guess also. A movie I liked better than the book was "Bridget Jones' Diary" but then I'm not much of a chick lit gal.

what about the harry potter books vs the movies? I think the books are better, the movies always seem to cut out the funny bits, and they make the Weasley twins seem really nerdy instead of devious and amusing. I'm not a big Harry Potter fan but I've read all the books through once and def think they are better than the movies.
