Read the Importance of Being Earnest. Now that I have read it it is possibly my favorite play. If not, it's up there. It was written by Oscar Wilde. If you have any interest in theatre it is a must.

i read that over the summer and really liked it. I always wanted to read Tennessee Williams' plays. Never read them. Although i rented A Streetcar Named Desire. I hope to watch that over this weekend

I've read it, but I much prefer A Picture of Dorian Gray out of Wilde's work The importance of being Earnest is good too though

I love this play. The characters are so extraordinary and funny. Wilde is a genius.

It's one of my favorite plays - so funny! I love Oscar Wilde's wit and humour.
I've read two plays by Williams: A Streetcar Named Desire and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, both were excellent, he's got a knack for creating very memorable, larger-than-life characters. And I've just started reading The Glass Menagerie.

Oh, I´m a Williams fan myself, thanks to my mom´s old books that she had to read in school. The glass menagerie is my favorite Oscar Wilde´s works are great, hopefully I´ll find a prettier edition of the importance of being earnest. Mine´s very used and smells of cigarettes.

I recently watched A Streetcar Named Desire. It was SOOO good. Now i know why they call Brando one of the greatest actors in movie history. I mean i saw Apocalypse Now which was really good but this was amazing. It wasn't as staged as most old movies tended to be back then. I have to read the plays now

I read part of The importance of being Earnest at school during English lit class, I enjoyed that and I wanted to read the whole play, so I started to look for an english copy of it (my teacher said not to read it translated into italian, because it would loose most of its humor!), but I couldn't find it and then I gave up and finally bought the Picture of Dorian Gray (very good by the way!). I'm planning to do an order some books (mostly because I can't find Portable Dorothy Parker in bookstores here) from a bookstore online and The Importance of being Earnest is on my to-be-purchased books.
I saw the movie based on An ideal husband by Oscar Wilde and I liked it, so I'm interested on reading the play. Have anyone read it? What do you think about it?

I've never read The Picture of Dorian Grey or An Ideal Husband although i tried reading Grey when i was in ninth grade and could not get into it too much. I'll have to try again. It's funny how some of the books u detested when u were younger seem so much better when u go and try to read them again!

I love that play. I read it last summer on the way to california over and over and over. It eventually fell apart. Tennessee Williams is a great writer as well. Although both things I have read by her (A Streetcar Named Desire, and The Glass Menagerie) have been kind of disturbing. Mature woulde be a better word, I guess.

That movie is so great! I'm sorry, I can't say if it's a good rendition because I've read only a couple of extracts from the play at school...but I will definitely read the whole play!

In my opinion, the movie is a really good adaptation, but the play itself is even funnier. And it's even more hilarious if you see a perfomance of it at a theater. Seeing a play on stage is somehow a lot different from watching a movie.

I loved this as well, I thought it was very funny. Me and my friend Robin always joke about eating muffins in an agitated manner.
