Today one of my favorite blogs posted a link to Art Garfunkel's web site, which includes a list of every book he has read since 1968. (Art Garfunkel of Simon & Garfunkel.) I love this! I love Simon and Garfunkel and think it's so cool that he reads so much and logs his books! He reads incredible books, and I love his long list of favorites. I (like most people on this board) am a huge advocate of reading logs/book journals and keeping track of what you read and when. If this site doesn't convince people, I don't know what will. Even if you're never as famous as Art Garfunkel, it's still fantastic to have a list to look back over of all the wonderful things you've read, and when and what order. And the longer you keep track, the cooler the list gets. Reading Nick Hornby's columns in The Polysyllabic Spree and Housekeeping vs. The Dirt has made me think a lot about what order we read things, and the flow of literature we chose to consume. It's interesting to see such a great example of a reading lover's book choices and consumption over time. Here is the link: www.artgarfunkel.com/library.html

My boyfriend and I were talking about Art today, so I went back to this thread to find the link for him so he could check it out. When I had a look I saw a link to a list of Art's fave books I had never seen before, and was quite shocked to see that the perfume by patrick suskind is one of his faves! A lot of us weren't that impressed with the book when we discussed it!
