Im just wondering how many of you go to a book club in real life? If so how often do you meet? what books have you discussed etc? There is one at my local library I've always debated going to, but what put me off is that they only meet once a month which I dont think is nearly often enough and they've never been reading a book that particularly interested me. But in keeping with my resolution for new year, to try more new things, once I have my course out the way I think I will go along to the next one. My mum and I have always talked about setting up our own book club, but it's a case of us not having a building to host it in.

I've never been to a real life book club. I'd like to try but I don't know any book clubs near where I live. A book club in a local library sounds fun, I'd definitely try that! Perhaps if you're in the book club you can suggest books to read. I think that meeting once a month is good but it depends on the book you're reading.

I went by the library today. They dont meet again until 1st February unfourtunately. Honestly I regret not going sooner. They have an evening one and a morning one Anyway the books they are reading are Atonement and The Testament of Gideon Mack by James Robertson. I hadnt heard of the 2nd one before and I looked it up online and it looks interesting so I think I will set myself the goal of reading it anyway.

I don't think there is a book club in my town. But actually, it is a very small town... I never thought about that kind of stuff until recently. You saw so many book club in movies (The Good Guy, The Jane Austen Book Club...) and it seemed so fun... And here, it is so nice (interesting people, conversations...) that I think real life book club could be great

I think you're right...perhaps once a month isn't that much, I'd probably prefer meeting sooner as well. Atonement is good, I think it's a very interesting book to discuss!
