I just finished A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris. It was a really short and fun read. I enjoyed the collections of short stories, it was a nice change in between.

I finished The Horse and his Boy by C.S. Lewis the other day. I think it was my favourite from The Chronicles of Narnia so far.

I finished The Hours by Michael Cunningham yesterday, it was really good. I haven't seen the film yet, maybe I'll do that sometime.

I finished reading Mario and the Magician today, a novella by Thomas Mann. I liked the style, I think I'll read more of his works. I have several that have been standing on my shelves for some time.

I recently finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, it took me months to finish and I didn't like it that much. Some parts were funny but in general it was sillier than I'd expected. The good thing is that I want to reread Pride and Prejudice now!

I just finished A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. It started out a bit slow, but I think the reason for that was, that I could only read little bits at a time. After all, I really enjoyed this book. I like Dickens style of writing and it's a beautiful story, even though I could foresee the end to some extend.

I finished Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua this afternoon, which was a fast and interesting read, even though I can't say that I agree a 100% with the author's views.

I just finished Port Mortuary by Paricia Cornwell. It didn't excite me as much as some of her earlier works, but it was an fast and easy read.

I just finished How the Soldier Repairs the Gramophone by Saša Stanišić. I found it difficult to grasp at first because I didn't know a whole lot about the Yugoslav wars. The depiction of the things that went on during the wars were sometimes hard to stomach, especially since the whole story was told from a child's point of view (the author was actually born in Bosnia and his family fled to Germany during the Bosnian war). But it was also beautifully written and had a kind of sad beauty to it, so I ended up really liking it.

I just finished One Day by David Nicholls, and I really enjoyed that book! What I especially liked is the timeline: it starts off on the 15th of July 1988 and ends with the 15th of July 2007, each chapter focussing on the 15th of July of a different year, and I think it was really interesting to see the characters' developments.

"Jookse, Jänku!" (Rabbit, Run) by John Upd**e. I liked it. It was really interesting. For me it seemed, that the author played a lot with the reader, with me. It is really hard to explain, but at times it felt like he picked me up just to throw me back down again. This book was exhausting, but still worth it.
