I was reading Awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict, but it turned out that I didn't like it. It's about a girl from 1813 who wakes up in 2009, in the body of someone else. I had sort of thought it would be a 2009 girl waking up in 1813, like a JA addict (like me ) waking up in JA's time, finding out it's not always just like JA's books. I'm pretty sure that there is a book like that - I think it's Confessions of Jane Austen Addict. I think the one you read is the "sequel."

Still reading War and Peace and I've halfway through it! I feel so proud! It's actually a lot more enjoyable to read now. There are some longer boring parts, but most of the story has picked up a bit.

I think you all would love it. It's called Lost in Austen. It's about a girl who gets transported into the Pride and Prejudice world and accidentally switches places with Elizabeth Bennet. I loved it.

I am still reading A Prayer For Owen Meany. I didn't have any time to pick up my book this week and I therefore hope to get to read some chapters this afternoon, because I really really like John Irving's style.

Still working my way through Sayers´ Bellona Club, hopefully I´ll finish it on the train tomorrow. I have a feeling about who the murderer is but I´m probably completely wrong

I'm attempting to finish Book 11 today in War and Peace. And I passed the 1000-page mark! Only 300 and some left. Just like reading a regular length book now.

Only 300 and some left. Just like reading a regular length book now. Haha. I have a bit more than 300 pages left to read. But my version only goes to book 7, I think. (VII). I wonder what they left out.. the backflap says that they left out some long parts about historyphilosophy (or however I should translate that? ) That it contains different scenes and that it leads to a different ending. I find it kind of annoying that they've changed things from how they were once published... But it says this is the original version..?

Hmm...I'm not sure what changes yours has from mine. There a lot of (sometimes lengthy) sections on philosophy so maybe they took that out to make it more narrative. Or took out all the boring military details?
I just finished book 11. Now I have just 320 pages left!

I've about 150 pages into A Fine Balance, and it is taking some unexpected turns, probably to introduce all the main characters, but I'm very excited of what turn the history will take next.

I'm about halfway through "My Sister's Keeper" and I'm finding it really hard to shut the book down at night and go to bed To me it reads a bit like a John Grisham novel - Stylistically it's just OK, but it's a real page-turner! The one thing that bugs me the most though is the way the mother is portrayed, I really despise her! I know it's not an easy situation, but I can't believe anyone would be such a bad mother, even given the circumstances...

This has been a P.G. Wodehouse summer for me, I'm now reading Joy in the morning. You'd think that reading about Bertie's insane aunts and his failed attempts to save his friends' relationships would get old, but it really doesn't. The writing is just superb and so even the silliest story is a pleasure to read!

I read some more of Special Topics. Its super interesting but sometimes seeing references after references can get a little distracting. I really wonder where this story is going haha its such an oddball book, much like the main character Blue.
