Am I the only one here, who hasn't read any of her books? If yes, then I think I'm in the right place, but I have a problem. Does anyone know where I could get the books? They are all out in Estonia! I didn't find any of her books and I only have P&P.

I know the feeling, Sparkle. I've found The complitle novels of Jane Austen in English, and P&P, Emma and Mansfield Park in Finnish. Finnish versious are sold out in bookstores, so I have bought them used. If you travel to Finland sometimes, you should check Akatemis bookstore (Akateeminen kirjakauppa ) There is pretty big English book section.
Edit. I forgot mention that every Austen's book in English are sold in Finland.

Do we have any idea which novel we're going to read next? I'm dying to read another Jane Austen book.

I'm not sure but I think that we're reading 1984 by Orwell for book club next and then we're reading a book for JABC again..

In the last poll, along Persuasion there was Pride and Prejudice too, but I'm not sure either if it's for sure...

"Sparkle", I too have not read any of her books! I'd like to though! I've seen the BBC versions of Sense & Sensibility and Pride & Prejudice and seen the new movie version of Emma but that's it. I bought S&S yesterday actually at Barnes & Noble (it was on sale for $5.95!) and read the introduction before I went to bed, but that's it so far! So -- whatever book is chosen, I'm all in to read it with everyone. Reading comprehension is NOT a strong point of mine, so I think that's why I've been intimidated by her books in the past. I think I'm scared that I'll get confused by all the creative sentences and such! If you haven't read P&P or Emma for the book club yet, I vote for one of those 2. I know movies are different than the books, but I think having the basic plot and characters in the back of my head will help me while reading the first book. Am I the only one that feels intimidated by reading literature like this?

No, you are not alone at all! I am a bit intimidated to read Jane Austen too, but I'm reading S&S right now with the JABC. I will admit that it is not the easiest read, but I just keep plugging away at it. I find it getting easier to understand as the plot develops too.

Maybe we should take a vote? We should although I think we should start the discussion after we're done with 1984.. I really wanted to discuss P&P but any Austen chosen would be satisfying!

Actually I finished Persuasion last month and I absolutely loved it! Right now it's one of my favorite books ever and if the others are better then I can't wait! And I have to say that I was intimidated to read Persuasion too. I was afraid that I won't understand her style or the book itself, but after you've started the book, the feeling goes. I'd like to read next P&P too, because it's actually the only JA book I have. I wanted to buy others too, but every book store in South-Estonia is out of Jane Austen

Hi guys sorry I seemed to have missed looking in here. I think we decided somewhere earlier in this thread that Mansfield Park was next? And I remember someone saying that PAP should be last? As like a big finale? I'm not sure. I thought we were doing Nineteen-Eighty-Four and Mansfield Park next. I remember Isa writing somewhere about when, but I can't seem to find it now. I think it said something about doing it after she got back from Spain? But if you guys want to vote for something else to do for JABC I'm sure that will be fine, we're going to read them all eventually anyway
