Have we decided on the schedule for the next book? Will be do another Austen first (Sense and Sensibility) or will we do a non-Austen and then Sense and Sensibility?

Vikki, I read S&S first because I tried to do P&P but Austen's writing style was too hard to read for me and I'd seen the S&S movie. Seeing the movie helped me understand what was going on and I got used to the style. So if you've seen either of the movies, I would suggest reading one that you've also seen the movie counterpart just to help. (If you think you can understand the language, then read whichever you want. S&S is my favourite though ) Thanks for the suggestion! I have struggles the past two days to get through the forst few chapters of Pirde and Prejudice. I don't really understand what is going on! This weekend I'll see if the library has the movie.

I also find her style a little hard sometimes. Until, I'm into the book and I know the characters a little more. I look at study guides and read the chapter summaries after just to make sure I read everything properly.

That's what I did I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie so I started it and found it a bit slow and hard to read. So I gave up after about 1/3 of the book and just went to go see the movie, which motivated me to finish the book! After that I couldn't put it down and finished it in about one day, and loved it.

You need to get past the first 3 chapters usually, before jane austen get's going and it's a lot easier to read

I have discussion questions in the back of my copy of Emma if whoever is in charge when we get to it would like them.

Cool bananas - good job Dom *hope you is feeling ok mate* and Jefie! *cuddles and cake to you both* I'm more than happy to get into fiery debates with people on book-film comparissons. For example, i LIKE the 99 Mansfield Park *gasp!* Northanger Abbey, as simple as it may be compared to some other more notable Austens, will probably always be my fav. Hehe, i'm with the "Griggs" of the world i suppose! I read Austen like a man... or something.... except i don't usually draw links to Star Wars!
