wowweeeeeeee~ That's quite a collection you have there; lovely lovely lovely! I'm glad that people are participating in this whacky thread, but on the other hand, seeing the collections of others is making me rather jealous and ashamed of my teeny tiny bookcase.... *OH~! Is that a big stuffed toy Hedwig on your bookcase? That's adorable - i have a little one but she's been missing for some time *sniif* I must find her before the launch of the final book or my celebrating will not be complete, i tell you! haha yes, the quote "Whenever I get a little money I buy books; then, if there is any left, I buy food and clothing." - is very true for me. yes! I like to think of my white owl as Hedwig! My mom just bought him for me for Christmas. Not officially Hedwig or anything, but my mom knows I love owls, and thought it was super cool that one looked just like Hedwig!

beautiful! it's interesting to see how some of the books we both have look so different. Ones I saw that looked a lot different were Life of Pi, Dry, and The Kite Runner. I'm used to seeing European editions looking completely different, and it's interesting to see how different they can look just right across the border!

I get a lot of my books through my online bookclub, and its Canadian published. Like my Janet Evanovich books are shorter then the store bought ones.

Ooooooooh! I'm so glad this thread is going strong! *does happy dance and shouts hurray!!* And it's always interesting, as you girls say, to see how the appearance of books differs across the continents.... the Haz ones i feel are far prettier in Europe than they are in their British and U.S. incarnations.

I have got the same copy of "The Portable Dorothy Parker", jennifer. And your books look great. Lots of hardcovers, I think, too.

I'm proud of my book collection. I see it as a great investment. I really want my future kids to love reading! I feel the same way, I wish more people loved reading. So many people I'm friends with have uhhh I don't really read, or cosmo or something listed in their favourite books section.

*cough* NAT! hehehe... actually no, Nat does read when she can... she read Catcher in the Rye after you, didn't she, Dom? But i agree and i am the same; i'm always buying my sister books that i think she might enjoy - "girly" novels such as The Devil Wears Prada and Cents and Sensibility - in the hopes that, while they are books and she is not in general a "reader", they are ones with themes and characters i already know who she'll like and as such she will appreciate and enjoy reading them. And she usually does she it's a good plan!
