I know that some people have posted their reading goals for the new year on Vox, but I figured I would post here as well.
My goals for 2009 are:
-Read 50 books total. -Read more classics. I'm embarrassed at the small number of classics I've read. -Read at least half of Jane Austen's books, if not all of them. -Read more of the books I currently own. -Make a dent in my TBR list. -Write more Vox and RBC entires that relate to my reading. -Actually keep track of the books I read (part of the above goal). -Set aside specific times for personal reading so that I can make my goals this year.
I really want to accomplish these goals, as I was pretty lax with reading in 2008.
What are everyone else's goals?

I'm not setting many becayse this year is my final year of my B of Law and I'd really like to bring my GPA up before I finish so I'll just see how I go.
But I would like to read Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion at some point so that I've read all of Jane Austen's works.
And I would like to post more on my vox about reading (I have more spare time on the computer at work now so that's probably doable).

Primarily I want to read more of the books I already own, and buy less. But overall I'm not expecting to get to read a lot this year, considering how hard last semester was, and the the fact that the first semester of next year is the beginning of my college application process.

These are the same goals I posted on vox: 1. 48 books total (4 books/month) 2. Finish my Jane Austen goal from last year (basically, read Northanger Abbey and re-read Pride and Prejudice) 3. 12 "classics" (1/month) 4. Specific books: * The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood * Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon * Peony in Love by Lisa See * The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama * Something Rotten and First Among Sequel by Jasper Fforde * The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray * War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
I also like the idea of reading more of the books that I currently own.

My new year's resolution was to read at least 2 books a month. But yes I too would also like to read more classics.

Just two goals: keep on reading books in Spanish (one every five books is my goal for this year) and read more, buy less.

I have one major practical and money-saving goal:
- read ALL the books on your shelf that are TBR *before* purchasing any new ones
and perhaps - read something that has both a length and a complexity that terrifies you; and finish it

I really want to read 4 books a month this year, but I think 3 per month would be more realistic... I also want to finally read some of the big, scary classics, like War and Peace that seems to be on many people's reading resolutions...

1. Read one classic per month 2. read at least 2 books per month sept-dec (when I begin college) 3. Read 10 or more books during june and july 4. I will not get stressed out over reading! 5. Read the same number of books as I did in 2008 or read more (Which was about 65) 6. Record the number of pages I read
