wow, belle a Book Fair! I love Book Fairs I'm working on a project of a road for university, I think I will move on to studying subject now. Tonight I'm going to a meeting where they're going to talk about a new law (well, draft of law, I hope it will never became a law) regarding school and university. There will be another meeting tomorrow and a demonstration on Thursday evening.

Well, it's technically Saturday although I haven't gone to sleep yet. I'm going to Indianapolis to the National FFA Convention to see Nick get his American Degree. No one probably knows what that is except for maybe a few US people, but it's not really an important thing (at least to Nick lol)

Have fun in Indianapolis, Kristie! And you're right, I've no idea what an American degree is. Today I'm going to meet up with a girl from England who's in Quebec City for a couple weeks to do a French immersion. I'm gonna show her around the city a bit and then maybe grab something to eat. Should be fun, she sounded really nice on the phone!

I've been just relaxing with some books so far today. Now I'm going to sew a jacket (or at least try), before I'm going to a meeting, and to a concert late tonight. Should be fun, never heard of the banc (Pony the Pirate) before, but rumours say they are good.

I've had a very busy week I studied, worked at library and started my usual Math tutoring job, and I took part in some initiatives of protest against an act on university. There was a demostration on Thursday night, it was good, here's a picture took at the end of it (in the main square of the city): image.wetpaint.com/image/1/_Qxf63raR5dTlf4YCLQthw42331

Today is coming to an end for me, but I think all of the days between now and December are going to run together to create one massively long day anyway. But for this week, I have to study for a test in History of the English Language (we're on Old English at the moment), write/present a persuasive speech, create a Character Crest and write a paper about it for YA Lit, figure out my math club activity for work/run the entire QUEST program because my boss will be gone, and figure out/plan a vocabulary strategy for my content unit in my Reading class. If I'm still sane by the end of the semester, it will be a miracle...

woah, that's pretty impressive! What was the act they were protesting against? Well, it's a small city and we were only 4000 people that night. It's a new law on education system, as for university, I totally see there's need of improvements but I don't understand how lowering financial resources could help the act plans to cut the budgets of university and research and use them as funds to shore up banks and credit institutes. It also allowed universities to be converted into private foundations to get funds (funny, I thought I was attending a PUBLIC university ). The rector of our university told during a meeting on Wendsday that, in our case, cutting the budget will mean raising fees of at least 1/3. The act also allows one hiring in five vacant academic positions...my "professor" of Rational Mechanics (he's actually a researchers, although he works AS a professor and BETTER than many professors) will be delighted! I know from experience that, with a government like the one we have now, there's nothing we can do to stop that bill...it's good we're trying anyway! As for elementary school, (I know from what my aunt said me) that bill plans to reintroduce pinafores, cut the budget, of course, and go back to one-teacher class. Now there are three teachers in two classes, that begun the year I started elementary school, I used to have three teachers (four with the teachers aid, because there was a child with Down's syndrome in my class). I've also heard they want to make classes for foreigners children only, it's a very unclear point...I don't know if they're supposed to help children learning Italian and, if necessary, catching up with a different school program...or if they're intended to separate children (a scaring idea, I think).

Sadly I'm afraid that this law will pass ...but we're protesting in my town and in my university as well, we have to try at least!
