I have a job at an office, where I do administrative stuff, like copying, printing, archiving . It's 8 hours a week, always a full day. I have been lucky that I have always had at least one day free of classes so that is when I work. I really like it, because it's not as stressful as working at a supermarket or fastfood place (as I have done in the past).
I also like it because I now have my weekends free (to study, mostly :/).
Knowing when I have to work and it always being the same day of the week makes it easier to schedule my schoolwork around it. When I need extra time for schoolwork (like around exam periods) then I take a day off, because I also get vacation days!
Have you had your job interviews yet?
Yes I have The supermarket one I didn't get I was really upset at the time. I had to do a role play and I thought I did well as I sold her the items. Then after I had to do a written assessment saying what I would have done differently. I wrote I would have been more friendly, outgoing. She said she was failing me by 1 mark because I didn't smile enough! I thought it was a little harsh as I recognised that I should have done it in the written assessment and it was only a temporary xmas role. The gas station one went fine, but I didn't get it because they were meant to call on Friday. I had a missed call but I think they would have left a message or called me back. I find out about the catering one tomorrow. Now I have another one for a better supermarket on Friday, the only thing I worry about is it's a group interview.
That sounds really great I would like some kind of administrative job but I have no experience in it. Yeah I want a job between 16 and 24 hours. As I have no classes on Friday so I'd like to work 2/3 days if I don't find it too overwhelming.
