What did you guys get for Christmas? I didn't receive any books but I already got 2 books for graduation, so that was ok. As Christmas presents I got things I wanted/needed: a weekender bag, a wool scarf and a knitting needles case.

Don't know yet As my mum worked for Christmas Eve, we decided to make it different this year: it is a bit crazy but I will only have the usual 'Christmas celebration' on the 31st (gifts, christmas dinner...) and actually, on the 24-25th, it was as though we were celebrating the brand new year. A bit crazy, I know but so, I am in a hurry to have MY christmas

I know what you mean, it's normal when someone of the family have to work on holidays, my brother often works on Christmas or Easter.

I got: Three books (Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami, Mrs Hemingway by Paula McLain and Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs), money, a waffle iron, an electric foot warmer (I feel like an 80-year-old lady using it, but it's great), lots of cookies and chocolate, earrings, Amarena-cherry-chocolate-liqueur, icewine and a cute little notebook with a bookish cover. Seems like an odd list now that I see it like this. Oh, and the 'practical' things were from my mom of course (meaning the waffle iron and the foot warmer).

I should add something like that to my wish list because I live in a cold apartment.

I should add something like that to my wish list because I live in a cold apartment. Me too. The building my apartment is in was built sometime around 1900, so of course the isolation sucks. And I'm always cold anyway, so it was the perfect gift.
