Ooh, I like those from the Shins too And: I know there is this side of me that, wants to grab the yoke from the pilot and just fly the whole mess into the sea

there's a guy behind me, he actually wants to pass, so I put my foot to that accelerator and say "Hey man I'll see you later."

[Chorus:] Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair In '77 and '69 revolution was in the air I was born too late into a world that doesn't care Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair
When the head of state didn't play guitar Not everybody drove a car When music really mattered and when radio was king When accountants didn't have control And the media couldn't buy your soul And computers were still scary and we didn't know everything
[Chorus]
When pop stars still remained a myth And ignorance could still be bliss And when god saved the queen she turned a whiter shade of pale My mom and dad were in their teens And anarchy was still a dream And the only way to stay in touch was a letter in the mail
[Chorus]
When record shops were still on top And vinyl was all that they stocked And the super info highway was still drifting out in space Kids were wearing hand me downs And playing games meant kick arounds And footballers still had long hair and dirt across their face
[Chorus]
I was born too late into a world that doesn't care Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair

I'm on fire And the day is feeling hopeless You'd see me burning but the burning's turning smokeless Soon I won't feel at all No
It's electric the neon hurt inside your phone call The layered sadness and the madness it revolves Bringing down the walls where you found her No
Well, I'm willing to break myself To shake this hell from everything I touch I'm willing to bleed for days my... reds and grays So you don't hurt so much
And now I'm static As your sky is turning purple and gray I'm learning that the further that I crawl The farther that I fall, is that ok? No
And you're in pieces As your world becomes a rainstorm You've got no shelter I'm a thousand miles away If you survive the day
You say your leaving You say your leaving
Well, I'm willing to break myself To shake this hell from everything I touch I'm willing to bleed for days my... reds and grays So you don't hurt so much
So you don't hurt so much
Never again will we fire this gun No never again your the only one No never again but you're already gone.
I'm willing to break myself I'm not afraid I'm willing to break myself I'm not afraid I'm willing to break myself I'm not afraid
Well, I'm willing to break myself To shake this hell from everything I touch I'm willing to bleed for days my... reds and grays So you don't hurt so much

"if I could be who you wanted all the time" radiohead (one of my most amazing concert experiences was during these lyrics of Fake Plastic Trees. It was in Sydney in 2003 and the entire audience sang the line in time and the band went quiet. It all felt so emotionally insync and like the band's lyrics had spoken to so many people in the audience. Anyway at the risk of sounding like a drugged out hippy that's my two cents

If you don't have a date Celebrate Go out and sit on the lawn And do nothing 'Cause it's just what you must do Nobody does it anymore
No I don't believe in the wasting of time, But I don't believe that I'm wasting mine -Fiona Apple
You'll say you understand, you'll never understand I'll say I'll never wake up knowing how or why I dont know what to believe in, you dont know who I am You'll say I need appeasing when I start to cry But never is a promise and I'll never need a lie -Fiona Apple

It all felt so emotionally insync and like the band's lyrics had spoken to so many people in the audience. Anyway at the risk of sounding like a drugged out hippy that's my two cents I saw Radiohead at a Belgian festival in August, they were amazing. Also, Thom Yorke even made little jokes. At one point he turned his back to the audience and put his face right in front of the camera. He was staring right at you on the big screens. They sure can get you in some sort of trance... Here are some freaky lyrics from awesome krautrock band CAN. The song is called Oh Yeah. In the first verse the vocals are played backwards, which sounds amazing. It gives me shivers. As your silver hair save that, For you got to better not there. I see your own cheeks, saves that, It’s a time you’re my lasting sign. They have got to sue the passing As you do too everyday. Still you point at them and then Sometimes I’m the slave.

"Every word is nonsense but I understand it all" Counting Crows
"A thousand miles seems pretty far But they've got planes and trains and cars I'd walk to you if I had no other way Our friends would all make fun of us and we'll just laugh along because we know That none of them have felt this way" Plain White Tees
"Wish upon a star but Do you know what stars are? Balls of fire, burning up the black space Falling from the landscape Exploding in the face of God" Something Corporate
I think I have a million more lyrics that I love, but that's a start for me.

You say I'm a dreamer we're two of a kind both of us searching for some perfect world we know we'll never find so perhaps I should leave here yeah, yeah go far away but you know that there's nowhere that I'd rather be than with you here today
This is from the Thompson Twins song 'hold me now' from 1984. The words have always touched me.
Another 80s song that I've always loved is 'don't dream it's over' by Crowded House
Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum and I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
I love the symbolism of the song

I love the time and in between the calm inside me in the space where I can breathe I believe there is a distance I have wandered to touch upon the years of reaching out and reaching in holding out holding in

I feel like this most of the time.... :
I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo. What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here.
I don't care if it hurts, I want to have control. I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul. I want you to notice, when I'm not around.
Creep - Radiohead (Pablo Honey is one of my favorite CDs )
