It's almost 24th December here in Germany and I'm looking forward to get my presents today (for those who don't know, we get ours on 24th in the evening) and that's why I wanted to wish you a merry christmas, because I don't know if there is time to look around then. So:
Merry Christmas everyone, have some nice days!!

Ditto to that! Merry Christmas to all and to all many gifts and good food and hopefully not-too-repetitive music and good weather, whatever part of the world you inhabit! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you celebrate St. Nikolaus Tag? My boyfriend Nick's birthday is the 5th, the day before St. Nikolaus Tag is celebrated in Germany. I thought that was kinda interesting...I celebrated St. Nikolaus Tag in high school because my German class made paper shoes for our teacher to fill with goodies lol Just wondered if you celebrated it.

Yeah, we do. We put shoes outside of our rooms and Nikolaus fills them with sweets or little things we´d like. Originally it´s supposed to be nuts and apples and oranges For th kids there are always people who dress up as Nikolaus and Knecht Ruprecht. In the Netherlands Nikolaus day was actually more important than Christmas and they had parades where Nikolaus arrives with his boat and then rides on horseback. But now they´re mostly celebrating Christmas as much. It´s funny that we celebrate Nikolaus and Christmas and my birhday is between them so I´m just partying through winter ;D

Yes, and Nikolaus tells the children what bad, but also good things they have done over the past year. He sees everything he says . Most children are very nervous before, but afterwards they get sweets and don't mind any more.
