So, tonight's episode was good. I don't like Rory's new friends. I like that Marty is back. I thought Rory freaking out about graduation was completely normal...I just went through that a few weeks a go. I want her to get rid of the pink hair tho. Not sure what to think about Lore and Chris....mainly because she doesn't look happy. I love that Lane is pregnant with twins, and Mrs. Kim moved in....sooo funny!

I didn't like tonight's episode....mainly because I think I'm really hating this season. I don't think it's nearly as good as it was. I think Amy and Dan leaving is extremely noticeable. I don't like the flow of the episodes or their feel. The episodes don't feel complete anymore. Yes, in the past they would leave you hanging until next week on a lot of things, but they always had very round, complete, excellent episodes. There would be a side story that would weave throughout the story, and it would, usually, be resolved by the end of the episode. A lot of times this was funny town occurrences. Now it seems like there's so many slow moving scenes that they drag the show on and don't leave room for anything else or any kind of resolution of anything that has happened. But everything is also happening extremely fast and weird and it all just seems weird. I'm trying to be open minded though, and I'm trying to enjoy this season. It's sad to think it could be the last, but I don't know how much longer I can go with these episodes that are painful for me to watch. but regarding this episode specifically....as that was what this thread was started for!: I think Rory's friends are strange, not sure why we're meeting them now. I like that Marty's back too, it will be interesting to see what happens next week. I don't like Chris and Lorelai, and everything between them seems forced and weird to me. Last week I missed a part of the episode, and it must have been the part where Rory decided to quit the paper. Can someone please explain what happened? I'm clueless as to why she stepped down this episode. Will she still be writing there, just not editor, or did she quit completely? And why!?

nope, there was no mention of her term ending at the newspaper. I don't think she quit completely just that her term has ending. Like when Doyle, left it to Paris...

Oops! I hadn't seen this thread so I'll just post the same thing again:
I was so disappointed that we didn't get to see the wedding! We've been waiting for Lorelai to get married for so long, I can't believe they made it this quick affair that we didn't even get to see! And since when can you get married so fast in Paris, as far as I know, it's no exactly Las Vegas.
It was great to see Marty again though, I wonder what they'll make of him in the next few episodes...
-------
But I agree with you zelda, the show is not as good as it used to be and the bit about Rory stepping down with no prior information is a good example, there are many loose ends this year.

I've actually been feeling a difference in the show since season 5...it was less of a mother-daughter relationship and more about relationships.
I agree, i wish we would have seen the wedding. If they do stay together maybe they'll plan a big vow renewal.

i really dont think chris and lore will stay together. it could get interesting with luke coming back into the picture tho...he looked rather ticked off in the previews of next weeks episode. i havent decided if i like rory's new friends yet. they seem nice enough. and marty...im soooo glad he's back! from as hurt as rory looked when he acted like they didnt know each other...something might possibly happen with them? especially since logan is so far away.

What did you think about the last episode? I liked it, i'm excited that Rory was happy in the end. I think they should have a big ceremony and then Rory can be there. I also can't wait to see Chris with Jackson...the promo was funny.

The last episode was pretty good, a lot of drama at the beginning but it ended on a postitive note. Again, there were some loose ends, some scenes that didn't seem complete, like Lorelai showing up at the hospital, and then that passing reference to Marty... The scene with Luke and April talking about kissing was pretty funny! And I agree with you bookadict, Chris and Lorelai should definitely have a ceremony with their friends and family, Rory's not the only one who feels she's been left out, I feel it too!

Yeah, I feel the same way. I do see a difference in the writing, but I don't think they ruined the show. I'm happy about Chris and Lore.

I so happy about Chris and Lorelai. But I did think it wasn't fair that Rory didn't know about it until after.

I think they should have called her. knowing they were excited would have helped Rory accept it.

Definitely called. Just imagine how left out she felt.

It was clear that Lore was afraid to tell her, which I think made Rory question why she did it. Why would she be afraid, if she was happy about it?

I can understand why she would be scared. It has been rather fast. But I don't think Rory would have talked her out of it.
