Personally I wasn't a big fan of any of them. Jess was like a modern Holden Caulfeild and Dean didn't seem like a real character to me. I haven't seen that much of Logan cos I've only seen about half of the new episodes. Personally I liked Marty, the "naked guy". He seemed the nicest, but they never went out or anything...

I really think Jess' character was based on Holden. I even remember a scene once where rory called him Holden Caulfeild.

I can definitely see how the character of Jess would be based on Holden Caulfield. Same brilliant but messed up mind.
I can't make up my mind about Logan. He's wrong in so many ways and yet part of me is attracted to his personality, just like Rory I guess...
And Dean was so nice but too bland for Rory I think. So I don't know, I can't really say I truly liked any of them, so maybe it's time to bring back Tristan, lol

I agree with all your assessments. There really hasn't been one really good boyfriend.

maybe if he had been at least a bit nicer to her... I know he comes back at some pt later in the series but I've only seen the time he comes back in series 4 so far (have to get around to buying the rest/wait for them to come out), so maybe he's nicer when he comes back or something. Dean and Jess are too extreme in each other's opposite directions for me.

When Jess came back during the last season to give Rory a copy of the book he'd written, I agree that he seemed to be a bit less of a flake, but yeah, I still don't know that I would trust him completely.

I wouldn't. There's really no reason to think his behaviour would be better.

Well. it took me a while to think if it was dean or jess or logan. Dean was so sweet and in the season 4 who she lost her virginity to. Jess is the kind of bad guy but they get along so well. And Logan idk. i dont know whats so good about logan. All is that hes cute. But Rory and Jess belong together. And you ALLL know it. There perfect for each other. They both are obsessed with reading and most of the same books. THey have way more in common. And Jess loves her. And im pretty sure rory did too.

I like Logan the best. Jess was mean to her, he seemed selfish and only interested in himself. Dean could not challenge Rory the way Logan can. He understands her more. I like the episode where Rory asks Dean if he wanted to read her article, then says she'll read it to him. Then there is another scene where Logan tells her that he liked her article, and comments about her writing style. It contrasted them well. I also like the Lorelai had a hard time dealing with a life with money, and Rory is able to enjoy the life with Logan. It shows that having money doesn't really have to be horrible.

I have yet to meet Logan but as far as Dean and Jess go, i favour neither, though i think it was essential for her to be involved with both, with regards to what they brought about in her via their very distinct character archetypes. I'm with Dom for liking Marty, but that is primarily due to my love of Broadway and musical theatre and the fact that Wayne Wilcox has played Fabrizio in LitP, so that makes him automatically in my favour! hehe!
