I own a translated version of Persuasion and that discussion is the good excuse I need to buy the English edition I saw at bookstore

I think it would be best for us to split it by chapters, no page numbers or anything. Austen doesn't write very long chapters, so that should be fine. But I bet that many of us will not have the same edition lol so we should stay away from the page numbers

How about we do Part I and then Part II? They're about 115 pages each, so that seems reasonable...

I'm glad it's Persuasion.... I didn't like 1984 too much when I read it.

hmm, totally unfair, the english version is a lot cheaper, but I find Jane Austen too hard to read in English.. so I guess I'll try to take it out of the library again.. I did find the 6 book box (all hardcover) with Emma , Pride And Prejudice , Sense And Sensibility , Persuasion , Mansfield Park And Northanger Abbey for only 26 euro's!! But in English.. so I'm gonna think about that one..

I have to read in English, becouse in Finnish are all Finnish version ( except Pride and Prejudice ) sold out. And I guess there won't come news.. Our tiny library has only one copy of every book, and all Austen's all always borrow. .. And thanks Isa choosing Persuasion first.

I'm pretty glad it's Persuasion, too. Ansku, hope you can understand the English! Carma, I understand what you mean about the English versions. Even I have some trouble with it sometimes, so reading it as a second language must be tough!

Yeah, the dutch translations are sometimes hard for me to follow as well, so I read sense & Sensibility in english.. I really didn't like it that much... and it took me forever to finish.. so.. I'm gonna try to find teh dutch translation of persuasion in teh library.. and maybe, if I'm at a bookstore.. I'll check that as well..
