Wow! I just checked on wiki and the book looks really cool it's said to be "semi-biographical"

I plan to teach history too, Kristie and for that reason I seem to buy a lot of books that past teachers have discussed in my classes. It's a good way of getting students to read more, especially if its for a grade. I always thought we didnt' read enough in other classes besided English, so I'm doing the same thing as you and starting to buy books I might want to use some day in my future classes. What's your concentration in? Well, I'm technically going to be certified in Integrated Social Studies, so that could be history or government or economics or sociology. I would prefer to teach world history (I'm not a huge fan of just American history).

Is it worth it to buy Penderwicks?

Well, I read the summaries of those two books--Across the Nightingale Floor and Penderwicks--and they sound like good books. Across the Nightingale Floor is the beginning of a series, so what I usually do with series is get the first from the library and if I like it, I buy it and the following ones. As for Penderwicks, it seems like a cute book so why not buy it? If all else fails, you can donate it to your library if you really hate it. (Libraries love donations...)

Haha! True, true! Apparently, Penderwicks is a series as well. The second book is coming out in April and it's a lot bigger than the first one; more than 350 pages!!

Yea. Considering the first one is only half that amount of pages it is longer (lol) although obviously not as big as most other books

I'm thinking of picking up the Narnia and Twilight series this weekend. I hope they're as good as everyone's been saying they are.
