This year I had the goal of reading more new books than the past year, I've met my goal but I'm not very proud of that because I studied too little I also wanted to read all Vonnegut's books but I couldn't find some of them at library and bookstores, so far I've read 6 books. I haven't thought of a goal for 2008 yet, maybe it would be to read more French literature...or Spanish...oh,and I also like your idea, Kristie!

I was thinking about this too! I'm thinking of shooting for no more than three books a month because otherwise I will just neglect my studying... I want to read more American authors like Faulkner, Fitzgerald or Henry James but also I want to finish with the Russians so I don't know... Maybe I'll do one month Russians, one month Americans etc...

My goal this year was 50, and I'm nearing it. But with next year being my final year of school, I reckon I might cut it down to 20 books to read this year.

I like to read at least 2 books a month, but I've never set like a real goal. But I like the idea of it so I might start since you guys make it sound so fun! Oh okay, I'm going to really try and read the Harry Potter books in Polish. I have 2 and my aunt in Chicago can get me more. I read in Polish just ten times slower than I read in English.

I have a similar goal of reading a bunch of books over break before school starts again. But I haven't set a number. I'm waiting to see what I get for Christmas.

I didnt set a specific time period for this goal, but i'd like to read all of Jane Austen's, Jodi Picoult's, Nicholas Spark's, John Grisham's, and Vladimir Nabokov's books.. might take me a while because i already have over 200 books on my to be read list and 70 books im planning on reading this year.. the title 'so many books, so little time' definitely applies here! =)

this year i hope to learn how to balance personal reading, school and work. it very difficult. my tbr list grows rapidly during the year but my read list remains the same during the school year. i find it hard to read for pleasure when i have a tun of homework to do, i feel guilty. but maybe thats why i get so burnt out with school, because i need to mix something fun inbetween. every night i've been trying to read a few pages. hopefully ths will stick throught the semester.

I'm going to try and read 45 books this year. I've got a bunch picked out already, but I think I'm doing well so far balancing books and school books so hopefully I'll meet my first ever goal.

My reading goals this year are: to read 52 books, (some poetry, at least one in Swedish and one Finnish classic). I just counted that last year I read 50 books so this goal should be realistic...

Do you have any reading goals for 2012?
I have the same goal as last year, of reading at least 3 books a month.

I dont have a specific goal. Just to read a little every day and try and get in the habit again. And not to try and force myself to read things I dont enjoy Also to read one book in either German or Spanish and actually understand it

I just wanna read more this year. And to try to discover more contemporary writers. Maybe more Spanish writers because as ironic as it sound with me being latina, I only know some spanish writers. I blame globalization. lol

I want to read at least 3-4 books per month. Furthermore, I really want to read more German books (German is my mother tongue), as the majority of my reading so far has been in English. These are my only reading goals for 2012.
