Well... I bought Middlesex today, because it looks like it's going to be the new book club book. I really hope it is now...I wanted to read it anyway, but I probably wouldn't have bought it just yet. haha.

I already own it, so I'm ready to read it. I've owned it for a long time.

Great finds Jefie! I went to strand last night to get "The Used World" by Haven Kimmel. They had it in the 50% off review section. This is sort of a strange story, because I do not want to read this book. I love Haven Kimmel's two memoirs - "A Girl Named Zippy" and "She Got Up Off the Couch" - but I do not like her fiction. Anyway, there's a book signing next month for the release of her book, and I am going to go and get my two Zippy books signed, and 1 for my mom for christmas. I feel bad going to book signings and not getting the author's most recent book that their touring for, so that's why I bought The Used World. I'm going to have her just sign her name in that one, and not personalize it. Then I'll try to sell it on amazon marketplace and make my money back. Crazy, but oh well. The other author events I'm going to this fall are for authors that I actually WANT to read their newest book, so this is the only time I'll have this problem.

I bought "Imagined London: A tour of the world's greatest fictional city" by Anna Quindlen last week. I like it a lot so far. Well, I have to admit, that I love books about books. It's from the National Geographic Books.

I treated myself to a few books since we are finally mostly done moving into our new place and it's been an insane amount of work:
Middlesex by Jeffery Eugenides Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl The Elements of Style by William Strunk Jr & E,B, White (my children's lit prof last year recomended this book to me if I wanted to get "serious about writing as a career")

I finally bought: The Things They Carried, by Tim O'Brien Going After Cacciato, by Tim O'Brien The Portable Dorothy Parker, by Dorothy Parker The Nine Stories, by J.D. Salinger
I had to buy them, because the library started getting mad at me for rechecking them for ten months.

I bought Stardust today. I'm excited to read it; I think I've read it before, but I'm not sure.
