I'm currently reading Dress your family in corduroy and denim by David Sedaris and I'm really enjoying it! I'd love to read more of his books so my question for you guys is: under which category can I find his books? Is it non-fiction? Biography? Humor? All of the above???

That's an interesting question and I'm trying to think of what shelf I got my David Sedaris book from at the bookstore. I think it was just mixed in with the fiction section. I've read Me Talk Pretty One Day and I loved it - I definitely want to try some more of his books.

It depends on the bookstore - but usually either in Essays or Memoirs/Biographies. Many times you'll see them out on the "Favorite Paperbacks" tables.
I adore David Sedaris - my two favorite books are Me Talk Pretty One Day and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim. "Naked" is good too, but it's not as funny - better to read after MTPOD and DYFICAD.
I really hope he will put out another book soon. It's been a while since Dress Your Family.

Yeah, it was published in 2004... thanks for the info, though! What about Holidays on Ice and Barrel Fevel, have you heard about those?

Yup, I've read both of those too. Holidays on Ice is fun, it's really small and has a few holiday stories in it. Barrel Fever is quite different from his other stuff. Still funny and worth reading, but I'd recommend reading it last.
And if I remember correctly, one or two of the stories in Holidays on Ice were in Barrel Fever.

I have naked but haven´t read it so far. Is it good? Yes, it's good, but like I mentioned - it's not as funny as Dress Your Family or Me Talk Pretty One Day. So I always recommend that anyone who hasn't read David Sedaris before start with DYFICAD or MTPOD. But Naked is still good.

Okay, so I read naked today and I don´t like it too much. It was okay but I think there are too many dysfunctional family memoirs out there. But I´ll try the ones you recommended, zelda.

I've been waiting for a new David Sedaris book for years, and there's finally going to be a new one this year! It will be released June 3rd. Here's the Amazon page, not much information up yet: (and this is a link to the large print edition, the only one that seems to be listed so far) www.amazon.com/Indefinite-Leave-Remain-David-Sedaris/dp/0316024597/

I have listened to a few of his readings on the 'This American Life' podcast (eg, one in a program called 'In Dog We Trust' which I think I have a link to on my blog). Also enjoyed 'Me Talk Pretty One Day' and have lent it to a work colleague so interested to hear what he thinks.

I started Me Talk Pretty One Day... it is hysterical! I love his parents! And the tricks that the kids played on them (like when Sadie the cat died they sent little ads and telephone calls to the mom) They are SO Funny!
