I'm in India right now (The God Of Small Things), I think I've never been there before..or maybe just a brief visit. I like books set in Russia as well, I've read works by Dostoevskij, Cechov and Tolstoj. Anna Karenina is so good, I loved it. I've been to China only once, but I'm going to visit it again because Snow Flower And the Secret Fan is on the top of my TBR, I bought it because all the good things you all said about it

I have Anna Karenina at home on my TBR pile. It's just so long... I haven't read any book set in Russia, at least that I can recall at the moment. But I read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See that is set in China. Have you read it? Many of us on the boards loved it. i know, it can be a little bit intimidating but it's such an amazing book!not only because of anna but also because of all the other characters and the fascinating description of the historical period! i haven't read snow flower and the secret fan but i'm going to put it on my (very long!) TBR list, thank you i also like amy tan: even if she doesn't set her novels in china i love how she describes the chinese culture!

Lu, I'm in India as well right now: The Mango Season by Amulya Malladi. I'm only about 20 pages in, and I love it I've been to India once before, for school, about 4 years ago, and it ended depressingly, so I'm glad to be back in a happier environment. It's always a pleasure to meet someone already known in a foreign place I'm glad you're in India too. I like The God Of Small Things so far, last time I've been in India was with The Secret Garden, during the sad events of the first chapter. I'm glad to be back as well.

Today I'm in Sweden. Definitely have never been here before. And I don't think I'll really get a true picture of Sweden because it's just Pippi Longstocking, a children's book. And all children, in general, act the same, no matter where they come from.

I'm currently in Toronto, but on my way to Paris in That Summer in Paris. And I just left England in two time periods with Harry Potter and Sense and Sensibility.

I'll be spending my next few days in Kenya. Kinda nice to go to a warm place after travelling around Russia for so long looking for dead souls;)

I left Havana before I was done, it didn't suit me in the way I was expecting. So I've been in England all weekend, with Jane Eyre.

I left Paris and I am now in New York with Dorothy Parker. If only real traveling were this easy.

I was reading The Cuba Diaries by Isadora Tattlin, but I didn't really like it very much. I have some other books at home that I haven't read yet that take place in Cuba: Dreaming in Cuban by Cristina Garcia and The Motorcycle Diaries by Ernesto "Che" Guevera.
