All anyone here talks about is The Thirteenth tale. It must be pretty good!

Today my copy of "The Talented Clementine" came in for me at my library. I am so excited. The first, "Clementine" was an adorable children's book, and I'm excited to read this new tale about Clementine.
I also got: The Golden Road: Notes on my Gentrification by Caille Millner Veronica by Mary Gaitskill Two DVDs (A Fond Kiss and The Family Stone) And Pearl Jam's newest CD

I live in a small town and we have a really tiny library... I think that I've really read every book there... So if I want a book, I'll go to the city! The library there is really big and I can concentrate me better in the library!! Also important: they have the newest books there And they also have englisch books I go to the library at least every week, but mostly almost every day

Still have Gosford Park (DVD) and Flirting with Pride & Prejudice. Also picked up some more DVDs: The Prestige and Pursuit of Happyness. Too bad I'm so backed up with schoolwork I have no idea when I'll have time to watch them.

I have Gosford Park still and am checking out the oldest P&P movie later, with Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier.

They finally got in the journals of sylvia plath which I have been waiting ages for and I also picked up a Kathy Reich mystery. I've never read anything in that genre but I thought it might be a good break for my brain.

I've seen it a couple of weeks ago and I liked it, although my favourite is still the BBC version. I really enjoy Greer Garson in Elizabeth's role.

I've noticed! Mr. Darcy changed his mind about Elizabeth at the same ball where he first met and criticized her, also Elizabeth didn't visit Pemberley, there is only one of Mr. Bingley's sisters and Georgiana is only mentioned...many omissions, but I think that the worst change is Chaterine De Bourgh's role in the story because it's completely the opposite of the book! She didn't liked Elizabeth at all and didn't want her to marry her nephew. Also the omission of Darcy's letter to Elizabeth was pretty weird, just because I've always considered that part of P&P book as an important turning point of the story. Nonetheless I really liked it! That could sound weird. You're right, Kristie. I did the same thing, I stopped thinking about the book after the first minute of the movie because I saw it was very different from book's beginning.

Lu, I agree with you. Everything you mentioned I noticed. It especially annoyed me how Darcy was just fawning over Elizabeth the whole time, because that's not how it really happened. And I didn't like the Lady Catherine bit either. What about the very end when Mrs. Bennet is looking at Mary and Kitty with men of their own?! What was that about?! Mary was much more apparent in the movie than in the book too. That's absolutely true, so annoying! And you're perfectly right about Mary and about the end of the movie...it's a strange attempt to display Mr Bennet's words:"If any young men come for Mary or Kitty, send them in, for I am quite at leisure."?? Isn't weird that we liked the movie despite of the changes and omissions??
