Don't you have a maximum amount of books you can take out? I think I have a 10 books max. bar at my library. I finally took out a book by a Dutch writer! It's Een schitterend gebrek by Arthur Japin. (translated as In Lucia's Eyes) It's about Casanova's first lover, Lucia. It sounds interesting. Haha, um, I´m not sure. I think I have about 25 out at the moment, they haven´t stopped me from leaving the library yet ;D I´m curious een schitterend gebrek, looking forward to your review! Oh, I kind of took out some more books (but they are included in the 25!): Agatha Raisin and the Potted Gardener (M.C. Beaton) Miss Webster and Chérif (Patricia Duncker) The Virago Book of Such Devoted Sisters (ed. Shena Mackay) The Life and Crimes of Agatha Christie (Charles Osborne) The Unit (Ninni Holmquist) Chicken with Plums (Marjane Sartrapi) The Complete Maus (Art Spiegelmann)

Making the most of the 3 weeks of holiday I have left before I have to go back to university, I got these books:
Beloved - Toni Morrison March - Geraldine Brooks The Uncommon Reader - Alan Bennet Life of Pi - Yann Martel And last but definitely not least, The Blind Assassin - Margaret Atwood. Seeing that I've heard a lot about her, I thought I'd give this book a try. Okay, I'm off to do some reading!

Yesterday I got The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. Btw, the librarian bought We Have Always Lived in the Castle for the library because I told her it's really good and few libraries own it (she got The Lottery for the same reason). I'm very proud!

And I got a fine for not returning The Blind Assassin in time. Oops... I always feel bad when I return a book late, like I'm not a good library client or something... but then I think, wouldn't the library be happy to make a little extra cash?

I haven't been to the city library in months. I've been checking out research books from my university library, but for some reason I never bother getting regular books there. Part of why I haven't been in a while is because i have all these books I've bought and haven't read yet.
