I loved The Famous Five. I´ve always been more into mystery and adventure than horror.

My favorite is the classics genre. They are the best!

I would have voted for either classics or contemporary then I saw romance sat there all unloved and voted under it. My vote refers to Georgette Heyer style regency romances that are very witty, intricate novels with tightly woven plots, feisty women, eloquent heroes and lots of tension without the awkwardly graphic modern sex scenes that I just shudder at in some chick lit. At the moment, this style of clever but witty reading appeals to me so much that I find it the most enjoyable type of book to read. When I realised I liked Heyers a lot, the old lit snob in me scoffed a little, then I found some more out about Heyer's writing, particularly how her stories sustained the spirits of a group of prisoners for years. The basic power of a novel to provide entertainment, escape and enjoyment is a powerful thing. So, regency romances for me!
