I just realized that I have never read many collections of letters, so I'm going to order Jane Austen's Letters (obiouvsly by Jane Austen) from internet. What does everyone think about that genre? Does anyone want to suggest any collections of letters?

When I was a little younger I loved all the different types of books: letters, diaries,... I even have a book consisting only of emails somewhere. I have no idea for letters, so I hope there will be some suggestions, because it can be nice to read something from a different point of view.

I have a collection of F. Scott Fitzgerald's letters, but I've only read a few of them. I also have one that features both Zelda's and Scott's.

I've read Love and Friendship by Austen which, like a book called Lesley Castle, are just compilations of her earlier ideas, like short stories that she experimented with for an actual novel. In L&F there is a Collection of Letters that's 23 pages long. I don't know if this is all the collection of letters you were talking about, lu, or if they were fictional letters she had characters writing to each other. I can't remember anymore. But I recommend it anyways! Other than those letters which may be non/fictional, I've never read letters by another author before...

I've found Love And Friendship, the description says that it's a collection of writings by the young Jane Austen, but doesn't say anything about a collection of letters, maybe it's a different edition. Love And Friendship sounds like a good book, I'd like to read it. Jane Austen's Letters I was talking about were written to her sister...if I'm not wrong...now, I can't find the review I've read some days ago. I'll look for it again.

In Love and Friendship there is a part/chapter that's called Collection of Letters. That's why I was wondering if those letters in this book were the same as the collection you found. I can't seem to find a real collection of letters by Austen, aside from the part in this book.

I've got a collection of letters by Jane Austen at home, it's called "My Dear Cassandra". It's a collection of letters written by Austen to her sister Cassandra. When Austen died, Cassandra destroyed many of her letters because she thought they were too witty and sarcastic so basically whatever is left is presented in this collection. I enjoyed reading it, nice illustrations too!

Thanks for that title! It allowed me to find the same book thru the library loan. So I'll check it out. I didn't know what the title was because I doubted it was as simple as Collection of Letters by Jane Austen.
