me too. reading in a car makes me get all dizzy and gives me a headache. i tried to read in the library at my university today. didn't work. i couldn't concentrate, it was too quiet and the atmosphere was too tense.

This afternoon I went to uni to meet the guy who is working with me at lab report. I was there too soon and I sat down in lawn near the building's entrance, I was covered by last part of the roof (don't know how it's called...) and it was raining all around...but I had my dry shelter...it was strangely relaxing the most relaxing 10 minutes of the day.

Hey everyone, this will be my first post.. I've been following this website for 5 or 6 months now and at last I've decided to post something.. I try to carry a book with me everywhere, but somethimes I can't because of the size of some books.. When a book is big and thick, it's really hard to carry it around... My favorite place to read is a very comfortable and soft couch which me and my husband placed in front of a wall sized window. There is a table next to it, to place my coffee on and at the edge of the couch we have our bookshelf which we keep all our books in.. So I love to read on that couch.. When I was in my country (Cyprus), I had a rocking chair in my room and that was my favorite place to read...

This is going to sound really funny, but I love to read by the vent when it is blowing cold air, with a huge warm blanket around me. I'm not really sure why. I just do.

Hi, nice to meet you I hate it when I'm into a great book that's far to heavy to take with me, I agree with you on that! Sounds like a nice chair.

Hello inrain! Welcome. Oh, i'd love to have a rocking chair.. or my own armchair to read in. As it is, i have my beanbag but that's not quite the same thing considering you have to continually monitor how far you are sinking down in it - i adore beanbags but they just don't offer the right blend of coziness with support that is required for some decent reading time. Now, nap time - that's what they're good for!

Hey eveyone, nice to meet you all.. I also have a beanbag, I like it but as Neh mentioned it's not too comfortable for reading.. I won't be here for a month or so, coz I'm traveling.. So thank you for warm welcoming messages..

i feel naked if i dont carry a book with me. when i buy purses i usually make sure it can fit a book. even if i know i wont be able to read, i feel comfortable knowing i have a book with me. two of my fave scenes in the show is when rory attends her first chilton party and rather than dancing she is reading. that is totally me and the second scene is when she cant fit all of her books into her bookbag. when i first say it i was like wow! im not the only one who has the same problem!
i always dream of having a house with a library in it. with a few comfy chairs surrounded by my books. my fiance and i are looking into buying a house or at least exchanging ideas and im really pushing to make sure i have a book area. its so important me. when im surrounded by books i feel relaxed my life seems to make sense. i feel okay. some ppl relax with friends going out and partying . . . i read or watch the gilmore girls.
as for right now, i usually read in bed or at work (altho its hard sometimes because my coworkers keep talking to me as tho they dont understand im reading) in my living room i have a comfy hair that was my grandma's i like to read there as well, but my fiance is usually on the computer or watching tv so i stick to the bed.

Have you found a new reading spot in San Francisco yet, memccart? I know you haven't been there very long so I was just wondering if you've been hunting for a spot yet I found an amazing spot in Golden Gate Park yesterday. The only problem is that it is rarely warm enough to take advantage of it. But I still really liked it. It was secluded and the trees blocked the wind.

Happens the same with me, i can't focus in the library, is just too quiet, since i remember i have read at house with a lot of noise because my family just can't keep quite for one minute and i guess that i use to heard some noise when i am reading.
