I briefly looked through the pages to see if something like this thread already existed, but maybe I overlooked it.
I was wondering where everyone reads? Do you always have a book in your bag for the waiting moments in life? And do you have a special seat where you can make yourself comfortable and dream away with a book?
I'd love to have a little reading place of my own, but I can't keep my room tidy, and the seat that I have is kind of ... uncomfortable. Without those things you can put your arms on. (cannot remember the word) I mostly read in bed, but in my mind I now associate 'bed' with 'read' and not with 'sleep'. Which is kind of bad. Also, I see less sharp now because I read on my side in bed, revealed the contact lenses man I saw a couple of weeks ago.

I usually carry a book around with me all the time, you never know what's gonna happen... I always plan on reading during the train ride, but there I can't concentrate (or just occasionally for a short time) so I read on the bus (there I have no problem reading) or in my bed. It's not very fortunate, because my bus ride is only 20 minutes long (each way), while I'm in the train or waiting for a train for at least 3 hours a day, which really limits the time I spend at home, which then again, limits my time for reading anything besides textbooks. I could read and read and read on the train but just can't... I guess it's very exhausting to commute.

I also wish I had a reading nook but I don't, so at home I read in my bed or on the couch, and I carry a book with me anytime I'm going somewhere and I don't have to drive (bus, train, plane) and anytime I know I'm going to wait (at the dentist's, doctor's, even the movie theatre!). Also at the restaurant if I have to go by myself because I'm at a meeting out of town or something, outdoors in summertime, and whenever I go fishing (which I don't do a lot because I don't eat fish but my in-laws live by a lake so...). I guess that pretty much sums it up!

I always have a book with me, if I can't carry a book I bring my palm pilot. I read in my bed or in a chair. I have a disk chair that's really comfy. I read on the bus, but sometimes that makes me sick so I can't read for long.

I carry a book with me everywhere. All the purses I buy have to be big enough to accomodate my smallest book. lol
I wish I had a special reading place, but I don't. I mainly just read in bed or in the living room. Or on my breaks at work. lol.
What I really want is a full grown weeping willow that I could read under. That would be so peaceful. : )

I carry a book with me at all times. Even to the movies, which might sound odd, but you never know when you're going to need it.
I've LOVED switching from driving (in Michigan) to taking the subway all the time, because now I can read while I'm getting places! I read to and from work every day, and during my lunch hour. I also have a job where some days are really busy, and some are terribly slow, so I listen to audio books on my ipod during the slow days.
At home in our new apartment, we have a guest bedroom where all lots of my bookcases and books are stored, and I have a nice chair and footstool in there with a lamp. I love reading in there (I get sleepy fast if I read in bed) but I'll probably do it more when it gets warmer, because we keep the doors to the guest room closed at all times to save on heating costs....so it's freezing in there and takes a while to warm up. But I do keep a very nice down blanket on the chair. There's a nice windowsill by the chair where I can put my coffee mug.
I also like to go to Panera Bread (a really delicious sandwich chain) and get food and sit for hours reading there.

it does sound nice! I usually just read in bed or on the couch. As well as the usual places like buses, trains, university breaks and waiting rooms. But when I'm at home I prefer to read horizontally rather than sitting up so I don't get a sore neck from bending down.

Well, I tidied my room yesterday! After six hours of hard work, it looks kinda nice. I changed some furniture around, now my bookcase is the first thing you see when you come into my room Where my bookcase used to be, I put my big sofa-ish seat, and next to it is Firmin, the most elegant book carrier in the world! I now have a cosy place to read! Here's a picture of Firmin: i143.photobucket.com/albums/r145/issele/IMG_4808.jpg

I always carry a book in my bag, everywhere. I read everytime and everywhere I have to wait alone and when I get bus, I don't get train so often but I think is the best way of transport... reading on the bus sometimes makes me sick, expecially on some old bus we have here. I also read when I eat alone, I know it's not kind reading when you're having lunch with someone...but alone I can do that. At home I usually read laying or sitting on my bed. I don't have a great place where reading but I'm planning to make myself a comfortable reading place in my room.

I always try to carry a book with me to read on trains ans buses or when I have to wait somewhere and I get really frustrated when I forget my book at home and it turns out that I would have needed it. At home I sometimes read on the couch, but most times I end up lying on the floor.

I also carry a book around. It comes in handy because most people show up late. I usually read on the tram, train, between classes or lounging on my bed. I only have my bed in my appartement, it´s small but comfy.

I read mainly on the bus journeys to and from work.
Recently I have been reading before bed and on days off, on the couch.
My favourite reading place is on our swinging chair in the garden - one summer I was out there reading Huck Finn- bliss.

I read on my bed or on the couch.I also like reading outside.
I need silence when I read ,I can't read when there people talking around me,all I can focus on is them and not on what im reading.
