I understand that people might join, post a few times then realize that RBC isn't for them (WHY they would think this I don't know, but that's besides the point... ;-)). But I know there are a few members that were really, really active and then just disappeared all of the sudden.
Maybe their computers broke. Or they've moved or something. And this is really creepy and morbid, but I always think, if I died, how would the people I talk to online know? They wouldn't, would they. I doubt they've died (I hope not), but it's a thought...

halie, I've thought about that too - how would my virtual friends ever find out that something has happened to me?

Glad to see I'm not the only one who have thought about that.

Yeah, that has totally crossed my mind! I think facebook is a good place for people to find out...

My computer didn't break and I didn't move. School and my personal life with it's messes took all of my energy and I haven't read anything for months. So I felt it's a bit pointless to post anything here. I have a Christmas break after two weeks and I'll hopefully get back into reading and will post more here too.

See, for me it's the opposite. I probably come on here more when I'm stressed and busy because reading is my escape. I'm always reading, even if I've only got 20 minutes and it's some light chick lit novel!

I haven't been here for a while. I guess it's because I was away from home and busy most of the time, and when things finally started to chill I came back and I kinda felt 'out of place'. Things changed here a lot since the last time I've been here, and I think that in a forum you should have a minimal amount of activity to stay tuned. I'm still reading but I don't have as much time as I used to have.

I've been pretty absent myself for the last couple of months. I've been swamped by school, work, and student teaching!!
But I wondered about a specific person for a long time now. I think it was whitemouse that I sent a bookmark or something to for one of our exchanges. It would've been at least a year ago now, I think. Anyways, practically as soon as I sent it out to her, she disappeared! I don't know what happened. Maybe she was young and her parents didn't want her to give their address out to strangers, or something, but she's gone now lol

I've wondered about the dying thing and online friends not knowing. I guess we all have those morbid thoughts. I think I should tell Ben that if I die, he needs to make sure people know. I love this site and I try to check it even when I don't have anything to say. But I've noticed that lately I've been communicating via twitter or my blog more and still with a lot of you just not on here. So I guess the way we interact changes with time. I posted more on here when I was in school and I needed distractions. Now I'm trying to keep my distractions to a minimum so that I actually get some work done. Maybe I'm growing up.

I always keep forgetting to check the site and when I do, I run out of time to post. As I am currently trying to put my life back in order I've been distracted and couldn't concentrate on anything that required more thinking. I hope that it'll get better now

I felt the same way, I switched schools and my new school was harder and I stayed later and never got online much, and sort of forgot, and then you try to get back to posting but you've missed so much you just don't. But it is a wonderful site and you can't stay away for long without missing it. And if you weren't reading alot then it makes you want to read again!

It's great to know you guys are still around, even if you don't always have a lot of time to hang out here

I feel like catching up now was not as much work as catching up when I was new here. There aren't a lot of new posts everyday, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on a lot! (I hate that feeling )
