I'm new here and I hope you can help me. I'm looking for fiction happening in USA in the 1960s. I don't know any books like that so i can only give some movies as example. It should be something like The 60s with Julia Stiles, the TV show Any day now with Annie Potts. Just something about the culture/social life of that time, told through teenagers/young adults. I'm from Germany, so my english is not perfect, sorry

Welcome to Rory's Book Club!
Some that I suggest are works by Sylvia Plath (especially 'The Bell Jar'), Allen Ginsberg or Jack Kerouac (although he might be more Beat Generation). You might also be interested in some nonfiction that was definitive of the 60s generation, such as 'The Silent Spring' by Rachel Carson or 'The Feminine Mystique' by Betty Friedan. Artist Andy Warhol also has an interesting book that might interest you.

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is partially set in the 60s... the actual murder it documents took place in 1959 but most of the book takes place after that in the 60s. I'll have a think and see if I can come up with anything else.
