That sounds really interesting, do you get to go to Scotland to do some field research?

I was majoring in Psychology, but I've switched and now I'm an English Major with a minor in Psych. I think I'd like to work with publishing when I am done.

Very impressive! Have you picked a topic for your thesis yet? Thanks! My research is on the Scottish literature of the beginning of the XX century, in particular on the work of female authors and critics...I can't wait to start working on it!In the next weeks I'll meet my supervisor to discuss the details! Sounds like a really interesting subject!

My major is Spanish and my minor is English. I think that people are afraid of getting stuck in a certain job their whole lives if they pick the wrong major. I'd rather enjoy my studies than pick an area of study because I'm scared I'll have to live on the streets because I'm unemployed!

I think that's true
Basic skills you learn in any major -- communication through writing, analytical reading, etc. -- can be applied to a million careers, anyways. And employers know that.

Congrats Anna! I had my first lesson today, in American Foreign Policy and my professor was so great! She seemed extremely well prepared, and you could just tell that she thought the subject interesting herself and she kept mixing it up with little jokes and drips of sarcasm, while still managing to be unbiased. I love those types of professors, they make studying fun! So to answer your question Anna, today it is fun to be a student. At least for me

Congrats Anna!! I enjoy being a student and learning new things but right now I'm in a period I feel tired of university, that's probably because I finished classes last year and I just have to study for exams...and because the professor of the last exam I passed was a -- well, I hated her. At least for me You're lucky! It's great when you have a teacher who loves his/her job...unfortunately I haven't found many of those professors at uni

I got my university results a couple of hours ago and have been on the internet researching prospective jobs I got accepted into UNSW for Combined Law! I was crying the day before because apparently the cut-off for the degree was 0.05 higher than the admissions number I had. My entire family and I were completely shocked and blew a collective sigh of relief afterwards!! The problem lies in what I'll be combining my Law degree with though. Initially I was really considering a Law/Science degree majoring in Psychology and hopefully undertaking an honours course. But now I'm not sure whether I want to be doing a Social Work/Law degree. I wish there was a way I could be doing both.
