I thought In Cold Blood might be a good nomination Seconded. Besides, I've read the Scarlet Letter and Frankenstein and liked the messages but not the books themselves. I wouldn't recommend them.

In Cold Blood sounds great to me, I really want to read something by Truman Capote. I'd also like to read The Grapes of Wrath. Ideas from my TBR pile: Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Agnes Grey sounds good, I haven't read anything by Anne Bronte yet. I'd also like to read Tender is the Night by F Scott Fitzgerald

I love love love F Scott Fitzgerald. He's one of the few American authors I really, really like, which is pretty sad.

I think both Truman Capote and Anne Bronte sound good.

These are my fave suggestions so far:
The Trial The Age of Innocence All Quiet on the Western Front Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte A Tree Grows in Brooklyn Tender in the Night could also be good because that new movie The Curious Tale of Benjamin Button is an F. Scott Fitzgerald one so doing one of his books could be timely. I've already read In Cold Blood but it's one of my favourites so I will try to re read it if we pick it for discussion.

I've attempted to read Tender is the Night. It definitely didn't capture the reader like The Great Gatsby did.
