Anyone have any nominations for book club book 2? post them here. I'd like to read "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac soon, so I'm all for that! post suggestions here and then we'll do a poll.

How about "The Perfume", since the movie is coming out and lots of people want to read it. I wouldn't mind re-reading it myself.

I have Perfume coming to me from a library in our interlibrary loan thinger, so I would'nt mind reading it for the sake of discussion.
I know most of you have probably read this already since I'm apparently behind on popular books, but I've been wanting to read The Lovely Bones. If you've read it, we don't have to use it for the book club, but did you like it? Just let me know what you thought of it.

I just bought The Lovely Bones, haven't had time to read it yet... If we don't use it for the book club, I think we should still start a thread when we start reading it.

I'd like to read Perfume as well so I'm all for that one. I've already read the lovely bones but I wouldn't mind doing that one either.

Sounds good to me! My copy of The Perfume is in French, but it might be fun to compare French and English translations with the original.

Oh no! Now I get a copy of the perfume while the movie is out and most people buy it just because of that. Embarassing. I´ve read the lovely bones, too. Great book. I guess I wouldn´t mind reading them again but maybe for the next book could we choose a relatively unknown book? Comparing translations is a good idea. I´ve only read the perfume in the original.

If everyone else prefers Perfume, that's fine by me. I have it checked out of my library and am just waiting to start it.

So, are we reading the perfume? Cause I´m going to the library today and I could check it out.

I´d prefer to read one only since I´ve already read both like you and that way I´d still have time to read a new book.

Yeah, I opt for one book at a time. I'm that type of reader: I can't read more than one book at a time because I mix things up and get confused. Not to mention I already have lots of reading for school so just one book would be best for me. *Quick question: Why do we pay our teachers at university soo much when they just tell us to read the bloody textbook and barely teach anything themselves?
