I have a friend who went to the midnight premier of Twilight and didn't like it (she's a fan of the books and said it was a bit of a let down), but I think I may watch it just for the eye candy. One of my million movie channels will show it eventually! As a movie, in my opinion, it was good. But as a book to movie movie it really wasn't that great. It was ok, but they did a lot of things different. I wasn't dissapointed I went though, it was something any Twilight fan should see. lol

Someone said they really liked the Antonment movie, but I have to say, I thought it was extremely dull compared to the book. It's a great story, but I don't think it translates into a screenplay well. I'm glad I didn't buy it because I doubt I'd watch it again.
I liked Twilight. I recently started reading the book, and I think not being like a super crazy into it fan, I appreciated it for what it was, a good movie that did the best it could to include all the minute details of the book. I imagine the next one will be better.

But I agree that the book was vastly superior. I think Atonement seems like a much better movie to people who haven't read the book because they haven't judged it against it. I think because it's such a great book it's hard for a film to live up to it.

I totally agree too about Atonement. I'm sad for people who saw the movie first - and had the book's amazing ending ruined for them.

I haven't seen the Atonement movie, but I have to say that I couldn't finish the book either. I was thinking about giving it another chance, but I decided to watch the movie first. I haven't watched it yet and now I don't even know anymore..
I liked the Twilight movie, but I love the book! It had a bit too... bad camera work ?.

I saw the Twilight movie tonight and I really, really enjoyed it. I went in with very low expectations and I think as a result I was pleasantly surprised. In the end I thought the casting of the characters of Bella and Edward was really well done. I wondered though what people who hadn't read the books before seeing it would have thought though, because they skipped over a few details pretty fast. Also I think if you hadn't read the book the first classroom scene where Edward and Bella meet could have been reeeaaally freaky. I laughed all the way through that part!
In our session all the teenage girls screamed when Edward came on, but then also screamed again when Carlise came on which I thought was odd!

Those are my thoughts on the Twilight movie exactly, Dom.

I don't want to see the movie because I never saw the character's looking like that. I don't think i'll watch the movie.

Hehehe, the Carisle cheering threw me off gaurd a little too, but the love that i have always found bewildering is that of girls who adore Jasper.... i don't see the attraction there... but mabye i'm just not into Cullen vamps! But there was plenty of cheering for Jasper too, wasnt there Dom? And hehe, i was giggling several times when Ed conveyed primarily visual/physical reactions or responses - without a context or explanation, it really does look quite silly - or worse, stalker-like!

When I went to see the movie I went with my friend, who read the books, and my mom, who didn't have a clue what it was about. There would be the sill facial expression and my and my friend would laugh. Then my mom turned to me and asked, 'What's so funny?' When I first saw it you could tell who the book fans were and who the movie fans were. lol
