I found myself wondering something.
Why do I like to read in bed so much? I read the most while I am in my bed. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, but books just seem better then!
Basically any quiet place with no distractions is good for me, though.
Does anyone else have a favorite reading place or very specific reading environment conditions?
...or a place where you can't read? (For me, that is in an airplane)

In bed. Best lighting and so comfortable. I usually read before I go to sleep.
I can't read in a buss or a car, or behind a desk.

I have a little girl who just turned three today.... so I usually read in the bathroom!! LOL Seriously though, I read wherever I get a chance. I really like to take a book in a hot bath though.

My favorite place is in my garden under an appletree. Of course I can read there only during spring, summer or fall. When it's raining or snowing, then I usually read in a beanbag chair under a blanket with a coffee.

I like to read in bed too - but sometimes I get tired too fast. So my favorite reading spot is always a nice comfy couch. I also like to be under a blanket, with a coffee.

I love to read in bed or on the couch. I also like reading on the balcony when it's nice outside, or on long-distance trips (bus, train, plane).
I'm not a huge fan of reading at the beach - too many distractions and the wind can be quite unpleasant - or when there's too much noise around. Oh, and I don't really like reading while taking a bath although I see people do that in movies all the time!

Yeah the beach isn't a fun place to read at. My books end up full of sand lol. Bed's a good location, but couch is better. I like reading outside on a bench in the park or something when it's a good day. I also read during a drive.

In bed before going to sleep, then is nice and quiet. I also like to read in train and bus on my way to home on weekends. And of course at the stations, because it is a long journy. I love my soft and comfortable sofa, so it is nice to spend some time on it with a good book.

I agree with those who mentioned the beach - I don't like to read there either. I get too hot to concentrate, sand is everywhere, everything is sticky from sunscreen. Plus I hate the glare of the sun on the pages - hard to see! And I for some reason never wear sunglasses.

My favorite place to read is in my canoe in the middle of the lake that I live on. I row out into the middle of the lake, and then I take out my book and I read while I drift around the lake in my canoe - it's so peaceful! But I put lots of sunscreen on first, and I pack a waterbottle in case I'm ever thirsty. But I have to be careful not to read out there when it's too hot in case of sun stroke. Or to stay out there for too long, but this can be quite difficult sometimes. lol

I almost forgot, I also love reading in coffee shops. I don't get easily distracted when I'm reading so fortunately I can read almost anywhere.
