That's funny, I never saw Dean as toying with Rory's heart - always the other way around.

In my opinion neither of them intentionally toy with each other's hearts. I mean, even when Rory is hanging out with Jess, and has been to NY to visit him, it is clear that she somehow herself doesn't understand what's happening. Lorelai thinks she's falling for Jess, while Rory goes "No, I'm gonna be with Dean forever."

Yeah, I agree with you Hanna that it wasn't intentional. I guess what I meant to say was that Dean's heart got crushed more than Rory's did in that relationship. Both times, actually...

I don't really know who I liked better for Rory, but I do like Logan now. I mean, Dean will always love her, but he's also in the past, and they outgrew each other. Jess ran away, and Rory didn't trust him anymore because he wouldn't stick around. So, as for now, I really like her with Logan. But at the time, I liked Jess and Dean too.

Jess will always be my favorite. He always encouraged Rory to follow her dreams, but never tried to change her. He also matured. I feel like he would support her dreams the most. I've typed out a long explanation on other forums before so Im kind of too lazy to now. I liked that Logan brought her out of her shell but I felt like his actions or the actions he encouraged her too were always kind of silly. Like the life and death brigade jumping stunt, while that is one of my favourite episodes. I'm al for taking risks if it will achieve something but that was just like lets do something frivolous just for the hell of it. I could never see Jess doing something like that. The only thing is if Luke and Lorelai got married they would be step cousins- only a little weird and it is a Tv show. But if they had a kid, and rory and jess got married. That kid would be able to say "my sister married my cousin." Then it becomes a little hillbilly

When I was younger, I didn't like Jess at all. Of course, when you are fifteen, you are probably dreaming of a boyfriend like Dean: handsome, nice, quite intelligent, attentive... and who pleases your parents (and most of all: your mum). Beside him, Jess seems too complicated, not attentive enough... But now, I prefered Jess. Logan is nice also: of course, it is very pleasing to be THE girl, the one who put an end to the wandering of a Don Juan... And socially, being loved by someone like Logan is also very flattering for Rory who, at the beginning of the show, lived quite simply with her mother. But Logan is a spoiled child. He doesn't know the real value of money and what life is without it and with few of it. He knows nothing about the simple pleasures of life. Jess is cute, very intelligent, rebellious, hurt, angry against the whole world... And he really loves Rory even if he screwed up at the end of season 3. My favourite moment is the one where he admitted that he had checked on google the distance between Stars Hollow and Yale. It is so nice... And then, everything goes wrong because he didn't graduate, he felt horrible, didn't know how to tell it to Rory and finally, met his so-long-absent father... Ok, at that moment, Jess is not at his best... But afterwards, he grew up and really became someone great, ideal for Rory in my opinion. Otherwise, I really liked Tristan, even if he is sometimes really stupid... So, I like to imagine that after graduating from Yale, Rory met either Jess or Tristan.
