I watched "Splash" last night, a 1984 Tom Hanks movie that I had somehow never even heard of. It was a pretty cheesy 80s movie, but I love cheesy 80s movies. I love that movie. I used to watch it all the time when I was younger.

I recently watched The Happening. It pretty much sucked if you took it seriously. If you could laugh at it, it was alright because it was so ridiculous.

I saw Get Smart today. It was so good! So hilarious. I was especially impressed with Anne Hathaway, she was awesome. And Steve Carell was great, as usual.

I sooo want to see it, I'm hoping it plays in English - otherwise I guess I'll just wait until the DVD comes out...

It's gotten really bad reviews but I still want to see it because I love Shyamalan's movies. I liked it lol. I could see how it was lame and I thought parts of it were lame, but I still enjoyed it for what it was I guess. I think he's very effective at creating suspense and I generally find his films enjoyable even when others don't like them (eg I liked The Villiage when no one else did). I thought the premise of the film was very interesting but it probably went downhill after they revealed what iwas probably "happening". My advice though is don't let anyone tell you what the twist is before you see it or you have no chance of taking it seriously! I watched Insomnia last night, it was pretty good but nothing special. Your standard police thriller. The problem with casting a major actor like Robin Williams as the killer is that you know who the killer is all along and you don't have the same suspense about whether it's one of the other characters. I enjoyed it but

Thanks for the review Dom! Yeah, I also liked "The Village", I just enjoy the atmosphere that Shyamalan creates in his movies, it's very unique. I guess it's like when you have a favorite author, you're gonna read everything he publishes even if some books aren't as good just because you really like his style.

My daughter is desparate to see Don't Mess with the Zohan but she is 9 and has really bad taste in movies. Lol.
I saw Lars and the Read Girl on Saturday Night and loved it. A really sweet movie and not salacious at all (as you would expect from a brief plot description).

I didn't know there was a movie, is it an old one? We watched it for my utopian novels class to compare to the book. I think Brave new world is from around 2000 and made for tv. Don´t watch it! ;D
