I loved the Kite Runner. It was a really popular book in my school last year seeing as all the seniors had to read it. And the author came to a university near my high school, but I didn't get the chance to see him.

It's a great read, really draws you in. If you like the whole "small-town freshman girl going to a prestigious university and finding herself" then you will love the book. Tom Wolfe does an incredible job writing/developing Charlotte and her friends IMO. I'm a big Tom Wolfe fan myself.

I found the hardcover for 10$. It really sounds like something i'd like. So I ordered it with my pre-orders of Plum Lovin, and Physik... so I didn't have to pay for shipping.

I've really taken a liking to a series by Lauren Willig. There's three books so far: The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, The Masque of the Black Tulip, and The Deception of the Emerald Ring. They're light reads and I find them humourous and interesting, even if it's not real history.
