So, it's official the show is ending.
After weeks of talks aimed at bringing the show back for a limited run next season, the CW and Warner Bros. TV have decided to wrap production on the quirky dramedy that focused on fast-talking femmes. [The series], now in its seventh season, will air its final episode May 15. [...] CW and WBTV released a joint statement noting the passing Thursday morning. "Announcing the final season of Gilmore Girls is truly a sad moment for everyone at The CW and Warner Bros. Television," statement read. "This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television's most memorable, lovable characters." Source: Variety
I'm a little sad, but I think it needs to end at some point. At least we had 7 good years. The show has been lacking since Amy and Dan left, but it was still very enjoyable. Better to go out before it gets too tedious to watch. I don't want the show to linger on.... It's interesting Rory graduates the same year I did!

You're completely right bookaddict . I'm a little sad too but I'm so glad that it ends before getting tedious, that would be even more sad to me. I agree that they create some of the most lovable characters of television! That's interesting! I know what you mean, I finished school, had the exam and took my degree in summer of 2003, and after a month I saw the last episode of season 3 ..it was nice! Though we haven't had such a ceremony for that.

I'm very sad too, but also glad it's ending before it drags on too long. Rory's graduation from Yale is natural place to end the show. I really hope Luke and Lorelei get together again, for good. I've notice a huge quality difference since Amy and Dan left. And some of the plot lines cannot go on much longer. I think Lane's twins was one of the worst decisions ever.

Actually I'm with you guys, better end it before it gets bad. But if Luke and Lorelai are getting back together, and I really think so, I would have really liked to see Lorelai getting pregnant...god that would've been hilarious, so I'm sad. Though I'm glad they're going, leaving us with the best memories of the girls.

Yes, it's very sad. But I agree that it is probably time. I just wish they could have decided sooner. That means we only get two more episodes. I needed more time than that to adjust to the news.
I think it is cool when you are the same age as a character on TV. I was the same as the kids on Dawson's Creek and I always liked that.

That is sad (just like everyone before me has written). I was hoping for Rory getting rid of Logan but then he'll probably stay huh? I'm with you on the quality difference after Amy and Daniel...Hmmm, we can still watch it on DVD though;)

I think it went downhill after season 5 so now is a good time to stop. But I´ll so miss the show, another reason to watch dvds instead of television. I agree that Lane having twins was an awful idea and I would´ve liked to see Rory with someone other than Logan. It got on my nerves how spoiled and perfect they were.

I think it evolved into something a bit different from its early years, but I still really enjoyed what I have seen of the seventh season. I was really hoping for an eighth one because from where I'm up to (episode 14) there doesn't seem to be enough room for Luke and Lorelai to get back together very well (we all know that is where it's heading) and it just feels like there are a lot of loose ends.
Also I think it would have been really cool to see Rory in action in the workplace after college.

Here is a clip from Lauren Graham's interview on Ellen the other day. They talk a bit about the show ending. I think she has been playing Lorelai for so long she may have actually become her lol.

Okay this one is funnier, she really is just like lorelai in it, but it's from awhile ago.
