Hehe, my cat's name is Oliver... although someone else named him before we got him, so i don't know if it counts - but still, that's adorable - kitty cats named Fitzwiliam and Gatsby! AWness! I talk to Olly constantly, as do Mum, Manda and Dad - and he answers, often very enthusiatically, but his meows and purrs are lost on us, unless they have a specific tone and volume - then we can usually tell he's whinging (again!) When I was a kid, we had a cat named Oliver after the movie Oliver and Company (we also had a cocker spaniel names Lady from Lady and the Tramp and a cat named Tigger from Winnie the Pooh). But Oliver turned out to be a girl. We found out when we found some kittens in the closet one day. But the name was stuck.

Lol in response to neh's message about talking to animals a group of boys started laughing at me the other day when I went into a pet shop alone and started talking to a puppy, it was pushing its face up against the cage and I was telling it that it should really stop because it would hurt it's nose. I didn't even realise I was talking to it, it was entirely subconcious. When they started snickering I thought I'd better leave!
