I don't like the "new" Dumbledore. they should've blackmailed ian mckellen to take over. he would've been perfect j/k I couldn't understand it if any of the actors decide against playing the last 2 movies as well. I mean they grew with the character and its more or less theirs. I guess it would be weird for them too, to see someone else in the role "their role", acting the part diffrently than they would've done it. you know? does that make sense?

Makes sense. If I were one of them I'd consider weird to see somene else playing the role I've played 5 times! But I'm not and I hope they all will sign for the 6th and 7th movies.

'Potter' trio signed through final film
LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) - Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have signed on to reprise their roles as teen wizards in the final two "Harry Potter" movies.
The three youngsters have been with the series since its first installment, 2001's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," and over the years questions arose whether they would get too old to play students at Hogwart's. There also were questions of whether deals could be made and whether some of the actors still even wanted to play the roles.
The final books in J.K. Rowling's best-selling series are titled "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," which will be published worldwide July 21.
The fifth film in the series, "Order of the Phoenix," is slated for North American release July 13 via Warner Bros.
"Through the years, and in each of the 'Harry Potter' films, we have watched (Radcliffe, Grint and Watson) grow into extraordinary young adults as well as remarkable actors," Warner Bros. president of production Jeff Robinov said. Warner Bros., like CNN, is a unit of Time Warner.
"It would be inconceivable to imagine anyone else in the roles with which they have become so identified, so we are thrilled and proud that Daniel, Rupert and Emma have chosen to complete the arc of their characters in the final two films."
Radcliffe, 17, who plays the title character, appears unclothed on the London stage in "Equus." Grint, 18, plays Harry's pal Ron Weasley, and Watson, 16, plays Hermione Granger.
^^^YAY! ^^^

Me too! But I really hope they wanted to do it and didn't just feel like it was their "duty" to fulfill the movie series.

To get back to Dan in "Equus" (although i by no means want to detract from the universal HP fan joy at hearing the trio are sticking it out), here's a summary of the reviews the production has been receiving. www.equustheplay.com/pr/reviews1.phpAnd i'm currently uploading Dan's recent interview on the Jonathan Ross show to share with you, where it's mainly all about "Equus", but there's some HP in there too (it's got some very adult talk though, just so you know. Still, Dan and Jon together always crack me up!) *EDIT: here be said video of the interview. Enjoy! www.megaupload.com/?d=30W9J3B0

yeah I don't really like it either. It must mean the book is going to involve jewels and riches of some kind?

I know that it's not good judging a book by its cover, but I hope the 7th HP will be better than its cover. JK Rowling said in her web site: "I'm almost scared to admit this, but one thing has stopped me collapsing in a puddle of misery on the floor. While each of the previous Potter books has strong claims on my affections, 'Deathly Hallows' is my favourite, and that is the most wonderful way to finish the series."

I like the US cover. But I agree about the UK Children's cover. I think I like the US covers better than the UK ones in general.

Yeah, I'm excited I finally have a picture to go with the title. But This cover seems happy. Just the color of the yellow/orange makes it look not as dangerous with "evil happenings" as the others did. I still like it, but it's very different from the others (to me anyways. As for the picture of the children's edition: What were they thinking?! It looks stupid, like a treasure hunt. And I think the characters look too much like their movie counterparts than what they're described in the book. Ron looks like Rupert!

I honestly don't mean to sound like a harsh spoilsport, but shouldn't all HP talk be in the HP threads?
