I agree, I was brought up a Roman Catholic but I don't practice it and I'm not too impressed with it. I'd like to change to another denomination of christianity maybe because roman catholicism seems so outdated to me. All the no women priests, no wives for priests, no contraception even if one of the people has aids, etc etc etc. Also the pope's recent comments on Islam weren't too bright...

Yup, and he´s German so the bookstores suddenly offered all his works and biographies.Embarrassing! I think I just don´t have a need for religion, I´m okay with the whole "there´s nothing after death thing".

Maybe we should make a religion thread in the General Board lol
The whole catholicism thing just makes me wonder. I don't know lots about it so don't get mad if I offend any catholics in here, but I'm just gonna say what confuses me. It seems to me that Catholics worship Mary more than Jesus and I think that's stupid. There's also all the saints you're supposed to pray to for different things. But what really confuses me is that Christians are supposed to worship God and God alone, so what's that saying when you worship mortal humans? I just don't get it lol And I don't get what the hype about Mary is other than she was a virgin mother.
*I think I'm gonna copy this stuff I just said and put it in a thread on the General Board so we stop talking about it in the worst book ever thread.

I am not too crazy about The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck. I understand it's supposed to be a classic and all but I seriously skimmed so many parts that bored me that I don't even remember most of the story. It was painful.

I can understand why someone would think the Anne books are boring. Its not action-y like books are now.

I do hate 'the painted bird' by Jerzy Kosinski!!! I got sick when I read it, everyone dies and it is so in details described! I have to read it for school... Has anyone read this book too?

I agree with you, but I do think that everyone may believe in what they want. They are free people, you know. But I do believe in God, and only in him. So I don't think that mary is important when God didn't gave her Jesus. On wich board did you post it?

Because of Jesus she is important, but that doesn't mean that you have to worship her as God.
