I think whether or not it's gone downhill depends on your perspective. It seems like as the main age group that watches gilmore girls has aged to about rory's age or a bit younger, they've included all this extra stuff to try to appeal to them more, like the drinking and the more obvious conversations and allusions to sex etc. I like both the old and the new gg, but maybe it's because it's been so hard to get the new gg in Australia that I still enjoy it. I agree, as much as I loved the old Rory, it would strike me as a bit strange if at 21 she still only cared about books and never went out. I mean, even Paris who can't be more dedicated to her studies has had boyfriends and so on...

How would you all like it to end when it does??
I would love for there to be a double wedding of Lorelei and Luke and Rory and Logan. And then if they could recreate the end of season 1 (Rory and Lorelei hugging at the end) I would think that would be perfect.

I think the problem is that the characters don't really move on very much. They don't change very much from season to season, and when they do everyone complains about it. And when things do happen, they're so having hinted on that its just not interesting.
