Ok, well there's no way I could of seen all of these..lol. But I can pick which ones I think are going to win. So here I go:
Best Picture- The Queen Best actor- tough call but im gonna guess Peter O'Toole (just because hes never won before) Best Actress - Judi Dench (for the same reason as Peter O'Toole) Best supporting actress- Cate Blanchett (but I really wanted Abigail Breslin to win, because shes just so adorible) Best supporting actor - Djimon Hounsou

i know Forest Whittikar will win(I think i spelled that right) but i really want Will Smith to win. I just love him, I felt that his acting was just SO real. It touched me
I agree with CaffineQueen I want Abigail to win, she's an amazing actress for her age and the movie, was really good

I am really excited to watch the Oscars tomorrow. I love that the Best Picture race is wide open, so no matter who wins it will be a surprise. (I'm rooting for Little Miss Sunshine ) The acting categories seem to be pretty locked, Helen, Jennifer, Eddie, and Forrest have won over and over in every awards show. Still, I hope that there is an upset to make things interesting. I think it will be in one of the two male acting categories. The animated and live shorts are available on itunes to download, and I downloaded two of the animated shorts - The Little Matchstick Girl and The Danish Poet. The Little Matchstick Girl is favored to win, and it was BEAUTIFUL - it was really sad though, it was only about 6 minutes long but made me cry. The Danish Poet was much more eclectic and fun, I really loved the animation and the story. It was longer too, about 15 minutes. I also might download and watch Maestro today too, I've heard that one is cute.

The bookies William Hill have started paying out this week on Helen Mirren bagging Best Actress. They say if she doesn't get it, they'll have been robbed and so will she.

Lol, that's funny! That's a good idea about downloading the animated and live shorts, I'm going to go do that now I really wanted to see the Queen and Notes on a Scandal before the Oscars, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Ok I could only find The Danish Poet on itunes so far but it costs and I don't have any itunes credit or anything so I'm having a bit of a hunt on youtube for the short films. So far I've found "No Time For Nuts" here it is, I will post any more I find as I go along With "No Time For Nuts" I thought it was cute, but probably not award winning quality. The end was cute though. I liked the first scrag short film the best personally at the beginning of the first Ice Age.

Thanks for posting those! I really liked watching Maestro especially, that was great!
I don't know how much downloads are there, but I think the Danish Poet is worth it. (It's only $2 in the US). It's really good, something I will watch often. It's also longer than the others, about 15 minutes.

You're welcome Wouldn't I have to go buy 20 dollars iTunes credit to do that though?

You're welcome Wouldn't I have to go buy 20 dollars iTunes credit to do that though? hmm, I don't know how iTunes works in Australia but here iTunes has my credit card number and whenever I buy something it just charges that for the amount. If I have credit (which I do, a friend gave me a gift card) it will use the credit before charging me.

Oh ok, I don't have a credit card, so I'd have to buy a gift card I think. Darn it, it's only 2 and a half hours till the Oscars are on and I went to www.ninemsn.com.au to look up the tv times and it spoilt the results for me with big headlines. Grrr so annoyed.

What did everyone think of the Oscars this year? I thought Ellen was so funny as the host! I loved how she was going around vaccuming under celebrity's feet and saying she had no idea this was a part of her hosting duties.
I'm glad Pand Labyrinth went so well, it's a great film.

I really liked the Oscars this year - I thought it was the best show in years. I think Ellen did a great job. There were a decent number of surprises, so watching the awards was fun. All the extras were fun too - I loved the performance artists, and the sound effects choir.

the sound effects choir was really good, and I thought it was great that Sorcese got one after having to wait so long!
